Love the article . . . I was there taking pictures and it was scorching . . . like 120F in the shade. . hot. Note the Yellow X-1. At the conclusion of the, roughly, week long event . . . the secret foreign press "peek" in St. George, UT . . . the folks ended up with an extra bike . . . They had 19 bikes that needed to go to Philly to the dealer meeting and Gary Cravillion had room for 18 in the tractor trailer. Long . .well, not that long . . .story . . but I tossed my luggage in the trailer, grabbed the Yellow X1 and headed to Phily. I mean it was only 2.500 miles. Some incredible stories . . . came from that blast . . . remind me to tell you the one of the Japanese Tourist on the rented HD that ran out of fuel and couldn't speak English . . . . Great memories . . . no regrets. P.S. - That was the event that we launched . . . by accident. . . the Onyx 1999 X1 off the cliff in Arches National Park. Yep . . .Harley guy who thought he was a sportrider and tried to keep up with Brian Catterson or somebody. I got in trouble when I found where they'd hidden the bike (empty nearby hanger) and sneaked in at night, pulled the tarp off and took photos. |

The caption in the article for this photo,"While popular accessories, Buell does not currently offer these as part of their new P&A package" |

"While popular accessories, Buell does not currently offer these as part of their new P&A package" Hmmm... don't you mean T&A package? |

The article was written 20 years ago. I wonder how those accessories have held up over the past two decades? |

It was in 1999 that Buell FINALLY tucked that header pipe INSIDE the frame and I started looking at them seriously. I REALLY liked that M2 Cyclone in red, but I waited until 2000 to get mine and the closest I could get to red was that "Molten Orange." I had a real Love/Hate relationship with that bike. When it was working it was the most awesome, fun and versatile machine I'd ever had since my 1985 K100 was stolen five years earlier. Unfortunately, it spent nearly as much time in the shop as it did on the road. |

The great ol' days. Much has happened these past 21 years. I continue still, ten years on to look in shock at the absolutely horrible decisions and policies of H-D relative to Buell. I think of what could have been, what I know would have been. It's a tough thing to let go. |

Blake, that's what happens when a publicly-traded motorcycle company hires a non-rider to run their company... Wandell was an IDIOT who should've NEVER been handed the reins to the company. |

Wendell was more than an idiot. I had a personal problem with his manners and character. But ..... that’s just me. |
