Damned shame. I had a Throttlemeister on my last two Buells (the Lightning Long and the 1125R) as well as my last two Maxi-Scooters (the TMAX and the C650GT). I was looking to get one for the XMAX when I discovered their domain page was for sale. I did a little further digging and found that response. Fortunately, Kaoko does make a part for the XMAX and I've already installed it but I did like the look of the Throttlemeister better. Plus, it was made right here in the US of A, whereas Kaoko comes from South Africa. Damned shame. |

That's really unfortunate. I got to know Dell (Mr. Throttlemeister) through a mutual friend, Chuck, about twenty years ago when they came out to Colorado. He had made me a set for the S2 to see how they would work on the 1 inch bars, and they still work fine today. The pic is of Dell and Chuck, Dell's on the yellow Beemer. You can see we're all equipped with his brainchild! I do remember when we just about took each others off at about 90 on Hwy 9, when Dell saw a car with a ski rack on top (it is Colorado after all) and mistook it for a cop and hammered the binders. It was a little like Topgun when I flew past him and I swear our Throttlemeisters ricocheted off each other.

Good to know there is a human behind the company. Damned shame it had to end this way, though... |

They made a good product. I had Throttlemeisters on all my Buells and on my Moto Guzzi Norge. I even went up to their location in Wisconsin and had them fit the Norge back in 2010. They were surprised that I wanted to watch the CNC while it was cranking them out. They seemed like really good guys. I'm sorry to see them go. |

Well, craptastic. I do have a best friend who works in the boat biz, knows CNC in/out/other dimensions, I'll discuss this with him. If nothing else we'll come up with a redneck engineering solution. I had a Throttlemeister on my Sprint. LOVED it. Don't really need it on the Beemer, got something a bit more rudimentary, but adequate. |
