Squids, Sorry for the confusion For some reason I don’t get PMs. I sent you my cell. See you in the morning. I,m bringing my earplugs. Looking forward to getting out of the”rat race” for a few days
Speaking of not recovered enough, that goes for me too. I'm feeling better for sure, but I'm still coughing, have one bloodshot eye that is weeping mucus, and three nights in a row of extreme sore throat. Other than that I'm feeling great.
I truly hate missing this. I had made plans to ride down today to meet y'all at Jims, but I just don't feel strong enough yet for an all day trip even in a car.
My Uly sits quietly in the shed, new tires at the ready.
Oh crap! I'll be thinking of Jim's all damn day! Y'all have a great time!
I'm not quite ready to post about yesterday's goings-ons, please standby... after drinking about a pot of French roast whilst seeing about getting Eric back on the road towards TWoS, I ate my usual bowl of cereal. Very quickly it was like the cereal erased the coffee from my system, and I suddenly needed a nap. At about 1 ish.
Despite the beds in the cabins that felt like sleeping on a concrete slab, the wife and I had a great time!!! The S1W ran great, especially with a new battery!! Was great to see everyone!!
Well dangit Laird. I had to break out my luxury inflatable bed for Eric at home, who so graciously and capably carried me home B---ch through Deal's Gap. He deserved it 10X over for carrying my 200# meatsack home, then we retrieved the dead Beemer from the NC sticks at dark-thirty.
I rode the Dragon beeatch, then drove it in my truck out and back. Is there a sticker for that??
I had a large time!I met new people Roy and Janette,Laird and Tammy.Ate way too much good food, got to hang out at my home away from home with my people and for the first time road a Ural with sidecar, thanks Laird! As always it was great seeing everyone Frank,Brad,Matthew,Ourdee,Eric with a "C" and Greg.
Bill,Skip,Carol and the TWOS crew were great hosts providing some of the best hospitality in the motorcycle community!
We missed four people that are a BIG part of our little group Dave (Glitch),Ann,John (Crusty) and Vern (Etennuly).
I can neither confirm or deny that two motorcycles broke down,or through second hand information, that Brad carries extra wire in his taillight.
Well, the wife and I just got home. Got stuck in a major traffic jam. Brad got his laundry back. Met a bunch of new people and they were all great. Got to visit with some old friends too, and they were still great. Janette decided that one day of trying to keep up with a bunch of Buell aficionados was enough for her and sat out on Saturday. I must say, the Sportster got pushed to new limits. The tires took a beating and the foot pegs got beveled.....and I've worked at getting them further from the ground. I had to bail on the group mid day on Saturday. Improper planning on my part resulted in dehydrated exhaustion. I finally got enough Gatorade in me about half way back to camp and, feeling better, finished the ride with as exciting of a trip down 60 as we had had on the way out.
I thought I had brought enough tools for anything that might come up.....and then I got a look at Froggy's wheel bearing. Not even the battery powered saws-all was going to fix that!
I'm just about over yesterday. Finishing my last whiskey at this writing. Took all day, a nap, and my honey's fine home cooking and love. Although I missed my chance at partaking with all youn's at Jim's, tonite's dinner at home confirmed she's every bit his equal, and then some.
Thank you, brother Eric. No better pilot exists to carry a B*tch home.
Thank you, brother Roy, sister Janelle.
Thank you Matthew, Fran, Frank, all you fellow miscreants who helped me out this weekend. I love you all.
Now I gotta sort out my crappy dead old BMW and get faster.
Clearly: Matthew, Fran, Eric, Roy- do you remember the old dude looking over my Beemer as I came out to ready for departure from the bakery? We talked a bit, a bit too long, held us up from our aisshauling needs. Things began failing after that.
"Tex". We spoke for a bit about old Beemers. Had olde ones like mine. He said he'd "retired" one after 300,000+ miles, which I fail to understand. He lives local to Madisonville, even told me his street, which I know, which is part of my side route down TN360. Offered parts/services as needed.
