Glitch, can you blow 2smoke out your ears better now? A good port and polish should allow that. I'm planning for at least my kickstand up early next Friday AM. Hopefully will have Vern and my Duck riding buddy Scott for a convoy. I'm needing and looking forward to a weekend of serious riding, eatin', shits and giggles, and Firepit Jenga. Let's try the Jenga without any accelerant... |

Roll call- didn't Slaughter or someone just retire? Methinks our numbers are increasing. |

No accelerant? I have a reminder list. Want to see it?

Now, to put you slightly at ease, Some of my past accelerants produced 20' blue white fireballs with cracked pavement emanating from the ignition source's former residence. I have learned that it is hard to ignite a fire if all the wood leaves. |

How did you get #1 billing? And there are other people on that list that should be ahead of me too. |

Looks like the weather is gonna be awesome! Might be overcast heading home on Sunday, but that's fine. Ahh, that's right, Paint Shaker retired! Congrats to getting off the old hamster wheel, no more chasing cheese. Must be nice! Now I gotta remember that place I'd wanted to visit down there a while back- it's where they'd written and developed a series of books (magazines?) about homesteading and such, almost like Boy Scouts on steroids. IIRC they were published over a 12-15 year period. Also IIRC, this place was within a half-day ride from Suches. Mike, any idea? I'll figure it out eventually... this trip down I'd like to head out to some places we've not been before. It'd been a year or 2 ago that I posted up about it, just gotta dig through a ton of old posts I guess. |

RD, I'll see about a quick pit-stop at Benton's for some killer dogs and other assorted fine pork products... I don't call my Beemer a "grocery getter" for nuttin'. |

That was quick! Yeppers buddy, this is the place: https://www.foxfire.org/ Thanks AdJunk! I just called and spoke with a nice lady there- they're open from 8:30 to 4:30, admission is $8 per person. They have guided tours, but they have to be scheduled a week in advance- I think we're too late for that. Unless, maybe those who'd like to go all chime in between now and late afternoon today... it sounds like a neato place just to visit, tour or no tour. Rabun/Mountain City, GA. There looks to be at least 3 main routes to get there, all about an hour and a half from TWoS. What say youn's? Another neat thing- I've been keeping a live map on the 'puter to follow the hummingbird migration 2019, someone in Rabun GA spotted one a couple of days ago. Yay! Today someone spotted one up above Crossville TN. Get those feeders out, folks! |

OK Mike, what say ye about the roads out yonder? To this place and in general. You always do a great job of scouting things out, my friend... Given all the rain we've had, BOLO for potholes and other hazards, everyone. They're pretty bad here in TN, watch out!

Brad, you should know better than to ask me questions when I'm at TWOS.
As for the roads in the direction of Rabun County,I haven't been over that way in several years and will be too busy this coming week to have a look, but the major roads in that direction 76 and 411 are usually clear. |

I’ve been sitting here after watching the Atlanta Short Track and thinking about Glitch Badness, which is next weekend. I thought about what route I’d like to take and I had a very small epiphany. I’ve gotten pretty bored with Interstate 75, so I’m going to take secondary roads. I’m going to take two days to get to Suches. The first day (Wednesday), I’m going to go as far as Cumberland Falls in Kentucky and camp in the campground in the State Park. I don’t imagine that there will be a lot of people there and I bet it’s beautiful. Then I’ll head down to TWoS on Thursday. I’ll probably arrive early enough to have dinner at Jim’s. I like that idea. I’ll be blazing my way home on Sunday up I-75, because it looks like I’ll be trying to outrun some rain. After riding home in the cold rain last year, I really don’t care to do that again. It was quite a miserable ride. That’s how it looks at present. |

Yeah, yeah Mike... looks like they're getting a good start to the season, yay! I started scanning through the visitor comments at Foxfire, sounds like a neat place more and more... who's interested? |

That was cold rain. I forgot about that. Is there going to be a moon-bow that night? I don't plan on talking when I swing by on the way down. I'm just doing a drive-by early. I want to ride after setting up my tent in Ga. |

The Moonbow only happens within a couple of days before and after the Full Moon, so I don't think there will be one. The park is roughly halfway between my house and Suches. Google says it's about 4 1/2 hours on US 27 from here. |

Matthew, my logistics expert buddy- apparently there are 3 main routes... 56 miles going to an unknown place is a good start. Time wise, if we head out and get there in good time, they have self-guided tours- we should be able to hit Jim's before too late. If time's in question, they'll hold back some Q and fixins for us with a phone call. I say let's breffix, roll out and enjoy Foxfire, roll back and nosh some Smokin' Butt. |

Yay! BW is back! SO glad I avoid facepalmbook, I'd hate to be addicted to that stuff. It's the meth of social media, and it has hooked much more than the millennials. I'm just addicted to BW, so I'm OK, right?? So, it looks like Fran_dog will be taking the 3rd bed in my room, awesome! I looked back into the archives a minute ago... dang if our group wasn't 2.5 times bigger at least. Hopefully we'll see some lost brothers and sisters soon. |

I need to get over being sick real soon. Started three weeks ago and comes back every time I feel cold or chilled. This sucks! Dr shot me in the ass twice and yet I still have it. Mostly I'd hate to share it with any of you all. |

In case anybody missed it in the Crusty's Travels thread, John took a tumble on the Roadster... says he probably won't be making it down to Suches. He's ok. Bike has minor damage, knees are a bit raspberryish. |
