We've FINALLY got temps in the 50's today with SUN!!!! YAY! I'll be off the first part of the week with temps hitting the 60's... Gawd do I need to wake up the ol' Beemer. Gonna need a new battery, hopefully not a starter relay, but maybe that too. Been wanting to make a run through the newly opened section of the Foothills Parkway...  | ||

It's only 88 days until the party and 90 days until The Mile! I'm starting to get really pumped up! Will Harley have their XG competetive? How about Brian Smith's Kawasaki? And what about the new KTMs? And JD Beach looked pretty good on that Yamaha, last year at Daytona. I wonder if he's going to be in the mix. This could be a very exciting season! | ||

Oh drool! 1979. I bought a one year old Yamaha TT500. It had me looking like that power dirt slide frequently. Very frequently! God I loved riding that thing. It could come out of a drift like that on the rear tire, sideways,with the front 4 inches off the ground at 65 mph shifting to 5th and accelerating. What a rush! This is why I will never quit riding motorcycles. Oh what could have been done on a Buell in my youth.  | ||

When the mood struck that TT500 could be directed to destroy a new rear knobby tire, a chain, and set of sprockets in one day of trail and hill climbing in NW Pa's Allegheny Forrest Trail system. When I would arrive back home, covered in sweat and mud, I recall sitting back in amazement. In awe. For how a simple machine could take me to church, having been to the edge of death, looking it in the eyes all day, winning the stare down where there was no other choice. Focus, very deep focus. So beyond "just riding" | ||
