Humans are not the first species to change the environment. ( as a NYT commenter said ) The comment was correct that this is the ultimate lefty fantasy.
It's why theocracy is dangerous. For the good of the goddess Gaia, you must die! How do you argue with that? ( yeah, that's right, guns, and nothing less )
Dang. I never got a day off in even colder weather. Wimps. ( mostly joking, if still truth. It sucks to be out all day in such weather. )
The not at all funny anymore part is the lying prediction based on religious zealotry, that it won't ever get cold again now that there is Global Warming.
I'm past being sick of being lied to. Reality Deniers will kill millions again.
As you listen to the New Bolsheviks tell us the most productive must suffer for their unfair success, Remember this is exactly what happened in the Ukraine. http://holodomorct.org
And in Venezuela today, as they drag people from their homes and shoot them for protesting. The breadbasket of a continent, starving. The richest oil fields, without fuel. How? The Kamelas and Elizabeths and Bernies called for fairness. Took power. Fired the competent. Installed their thieves, stole all the riches, and ran it into the ground, so that now they must murder in the streets to terrorize the same folks that gave them power.
If I was Donald, I'd organize a Congressional fact finding junket to Venezuela, tell everyone they are being bussed to the ultra luxury hotel on the coast, but instead drive them to the slums and abandon them there with a cell phone jammer, a sign on the bus explaining it's full of rich Americans who support Maduro, who have champagne and snacks, here to see the peasants.

I'm having my fourth day off in a row for weather. The snow has been bad, but when you combine it with the cold and wind, it's really bad for the buses. There will be a few to a bunch that just don't want to start. Then delays for snow. Meanwhile the kids are waiting an extra 20-30 minutes for the bus to show up, without a hat, gloves or boots.
I tossed a half gallon of boiling water off the deck this morning. I don't think any of it made it to the ground. It just made a great big column of frozen mist that drifted off in the wind. Oddly satisfying.
First, a cold snap is weather, not climate, and does not disprove Global Warming.
Second, when they tell you in a month that 2018 was the warmest year on record, and you notice that last year's cold was erased, and they are lying to you, THAT disproves Global Warming.
Case closed.
I predicted that they would announce '18 as the warmest year. Please let me know when they make that lie official.
I now predict they will declare '19 the warmest year on record. Actually I did that a year ago..... So
I officially predict they will declare 2020 the warmest year on record.
Further, that you must vote for Democrats to save the planet.
Further, that we will have record cold in winter next year, and summer/spring/fall this one.
And 2021, 2022,2023.... Until we finally burn these lying communist thugs at the stake for warmth.
I noticed that there seem to be errors in the weather reports. This record cold business is true for a lot of cities, but for the Midwest as a whole? No.
I remember 90 below wind chills in South Dakota in the 60's. They may have redefined wind chill. The old formula from my Boy Scout merit badge in meteorology..... Screw it, I'll look it up.........
They are talking rain Sunday and Monday around here. That will be proof of global warming. I see this as weather averaging itself. Extremes happen. Life is much, much harder in the extreme cold though.
The other odd thing, "global warming", as per the theory, has a larger effect near the poles than near the equator. That's why they focus so much on watching the arctic and antarctic. Would that really be a bad thing? I don't think so, but I'm also not so sure we will ever see that.
They suffer from myopia. Were they to zoom out on the geologic temperature charts, they’d see that we live in a blessedly warm spell bracketed by civilization ending glaciations.
Seriously, haul out the Ice Age cartoon movie version of a glacier. Big wall of ice. Unstoppable, slow moving. ( except when that rodent is there ) ... It was like that some places. Like Vancouver or Rochester.
But where you find plants, there & Siberia, one day maybe in late Spring? it snowed, all day. For months. Never thawed out again for 40,000 years.
The Canadian ice cap scraped it's way south and stripped the soil down to the Precambrian shield, the oldest exposed rock on Earth. That's why it has all those impact craters.
The Next Ice Age, if that repeats, will have Vancouver holding the wall of ice at bay with giant hot water cannons and steam pipes powered by multiple nuclear reactors. Or it will vanish.
