Definitely in for a ribeye sammich, and would certainly like to try some bacon popcorn! Got a microwave popcorn popper for Christmas, next time I pass through Madisonville maybe I'll grab some Benton's bacon...
OK, now to figure the logistics. I'll be happy to split a room with whomever, just be warned that I snore like a 'Quatch. I'll be happy to provide earplugs if need be.
Sunday the 27th will mark another year I've managed to stay above the dirt- if anyone familiar with the environs knows of a notable noshing spot, holler.
Crusty, you may as well come by here a day early and we will make a trip to the Smoked to the Bone BBQ joint. I think Tootalls friend owns the place. Anyone else is welcome to come stay too.
Jerry; I'm going to be traveling with Roy and RD and I'll have to take a rain check on that meal until another time.
However; I have found a BBQ joint in Springfield just up from the Harley dealer called the Hickory River Smokehouse. I have no idea if it's any good; Trip Advisor gives it high marks, though. It might be a good place for dinner on Friday evening.
Hey; I just looked at the menu; they have Southern Style Okra! Breaded and deep-fried!
I'm going to get some to see what it tastes like!
Yup; a half rack of ribs with a side of beans and a side of Okra!
Pnzor! We have lots of space. Camper with a queen bed, spare bedroom with a queen and a comfortable couch. Email is jerryruffner@yahoo.com (just say the word)
Crusty, if you change your mind we don’t mind hosting a bunch. Y’all are welcome, we will have the room. The way we look at it “The more the merrier” And down by Smoked to the Bone is the best little ice cream place EVER!!!!
Smoked to the Bone is owned by Phil Richards. He was the pole vaulter in high school and I was the high jumper. His record was broken last year, or finally as he says! I have not been there yet but will be checking it out one of these days!
I will be there at the races, just trying to figure out if I want to camp or motel it!
