Interesting theory. Climate change caused the collapse of the bronze age civilizations in the med. The Aegean sea cooled, which resulted in lower rainfall, which caused a drought, which caused a famine, which caused a war. A cooling Earth is bad news, it seems. | ||

That's what I keep saying. Cold times are death times. Empires fall, see Rome. The plagues following the conquest of the Western Roman Empire remnants by the Eastern Roman Empire, ( Byzantium, in Constantinople ) were in part, caused by climate change, and starvation from the war disrupting food production. Look at post 500 A.D. Temperatures as a major factor in the Dark Ages. ( When the Armies come through, they take all the food. It may be as recent as WW1 that the logistics to keep the army Fed were big enough to to do so after the local food was taken. Napoleon sponsored the invention of canned food to supply his troops. Not completely successful at the logistics but aware of the problems and actively trying. WW2, before the Americans pushed logistics to the point we didn't take all the local food. See Cargo Cults. Darn, there's a good paper in that. Fairly easily researched. ) Historically, warm times give more crops, more people live to adulthood, life is good, better nutrition means less disease, etc. Etc. ( although when, exactly, that is, varies from story to story. ) The prediction is from a team in India, using a magic spell, or computer model. It may be the greatest danger to mankind is not the Global Warming goal of planetary dictatorship. It's the corruption of science and the distrust of science. I won't even get into the issue that we now Know that we will have a fresh influenza epidemic sweep the planet every year, originating in China, like clockwork, because the poverty and population combination there generates the waves. Already done, Sifo. They already do that. There's been no change in rate of change in recorded history. So they already lie about it. I know they lie about it. I've seen graphs of the change, cherry picked to show the rise since 1960 or so, claiming it to be because of climate change. Complete BS. Easy to refute with a graph like what Blake posted. I'm wondering when they change the historical data so that Blake's graphs are now "outdated". They've done it with the temperature histories. Easy to verify. It's not so easy to verify what they are doing to the data from here forward. Can these agencies ever be trusted to tell the truth? Not as far as I'm concerned. When the sea level data is adjusted in a similar way, that data will also become meaningless. At least that data goes into navigational charts, so they won't be so likely to fudge the current data. When they are claiming an underwater hazard to be deeper than it really is, there are people who are really going to be upset. Lawyers will be involved. Courts will demand to see the evidence. There will be real issues playing with sea level data the way the do temperature data. | ||

If they're worried about sea levels rising, why not drill through the sea bed, allowing lava to flow into the sea, boiling sea water, moving it out of the sea into the atmosphere? We can also drill through the crust on land, allowing metered amounts of volcanic ash to enter the atmosphere, reflecting the sunlight and causing a volcanic winter to combat global warming. This will also help with sea levels as precipitation will be frozen, re-building the ice caps that are disappearing. I think I just solved global warming. |
