It is real neat when you bring up 20 pics of the Mazdas at the same time. I think that is my Mother n Law's car. Same color. It was in my drive earlier.
John, This USPS Tracking # should work later today: 9500111236728352151402 . Just a couple of single serve packs of instant coffee. Could you give me your opinion of them?

Mike; I buy whole bean coffee and grind it myself. I have a preference for coffee from Kenya, but lately it's been hard to find. I just bought a bag of Light Roast Kenya from Whole Foods, but I haven't sampled it yet. I'm going to kill off the Starbucks Yukon Blend that I bought first. I have some special Kenya medium roast that was sent to me from Australia. I've been saving it for Christmas.
I got 3 vanilla envelopes in the mail today. The first one was the stuff from Pwnzer. Thanks Matthew! The second held a CD of the Drum Battle between Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich from Jazz at the Philharmonic in 1952. Thanks, Crusty! The third was a Santa on a motorcycle that rocks back and forth in the sunlight. There was no note, but the return address was from a business in Murvil. Thanks, Brad!

I am curious what kind of grinder you use. I work at an overpriced coffee place where customers expect you to recommend $200 grinders, but many of our old school customers from the 1960s use itty bitty cuisinart type grinders which technically "burn" the flavor (perhaps unnoticeably) but they are happy with it, and they can gauge the grind by eye.
When I could get free coffee from them, I always took Kenya or Celebes beans for their rich texture.

Cool to hear you got that, buddy! Took me and my sweetie a bit of legwork to find a Dollar General that hadn't sold out of them.
Didn't know you were a jazz fan! I should've sent a CD copy of Cyrus Chestnut's "A Charlie Brown Christmas", dangit! We're going to see him tomorrow nite at the Tennessee Theatre, playing with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, can't wait!! If you check Amazon, find that CD and order it, pronto!! It's out of print but you can still find used copies- it's Christmas music SO good you could listen to it year round.

I've got it. I bought it a few weeks ago.
HOgwash; I have a Krups grinder that'll give a real "Coffee Snob" fits. I think it cost fifteen bucks a few years ago. I also have a hand powered burr grinder that works well. It just takes a lot longer to grind the same amount of coffee.

This morning, I received a small(to the giver) Christmas Present. So I went to the link that Gravydog put up over on the XL forum and spent it. I just got confirmation that it's being shipped!

Hey Crusty, before you find and order an XR1200 front fender I thought I'd point out that it is designed for a 17" front wheel. Maybe you have already considered this and have determined it will work, but I thought I'd bring it up just in case.
Court- I'll remind you to tell me. One of his early teachers was Donald Brown, a Knoxville native- I used to stand over his shoulder as he played piano at Lucille's... if you don't have Cyrus' "A Charlie Brown Christmas", you should remedy that situation, play it fairly loud on your hi-fi.
Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice; the shortest day of the year. I went over to TimeandDate.com and it actually is the shortest day by 4 seconds. Today is four seconds longer than tomorrow is supposed to be. The good news is that starting Saturday, the days will be getting longer. I probably won’t notice the improvement until late January, but knowing that the days are longer will give me a better attitude.
Next Tuesday is Christmas, my favorite holiday. I love doing all the little things that make it special. I spend way too much on Christmas Cards and I write a message in each one. I put a lot of effort into trying to get the right gifts for the people I care about. I enjoy doing that, even though I invariably spend a lot more money than I had budgeted. I’d spend more, if I could. I put colored lights up on the house. I have my own ideas about what’s tasteful and what’s tacky. You know, there’s a house down the street that has an inflated Darth Vader on the lawn. I just don’t see any connection with Christmas; but hey, if they like it…
I plan my Christmas Dinner well in advance and really enjoy it. I have almost everything for the dinner in the house. I’ll go pick up the meat either tomorrow or Saturday.
I watch the sappy feel-good Christmas movies. Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause, The Muppet Christmas Carol and, of course, It’s a Wonderful Life. I listen to all sorts of Christmas music. Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Glen Miller Band, Pentatonix, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Mannheim Steamroller Cyrus Chestnut and The Time-Life Treasury among many others. I have pretty eclectic tastes in music.
And I remember what Christmas is. It’s the birthday of Jesus Christ. I’m not a very religious man, but I am a Christian. I’m not ashamed of that fact. I think it’s only right to acknowledge that my Savior was born and died so that I have a shot at redemption.
When Jesus was born, the angels appeared and said, “Peace on Earth and Good Will to Men”. What a concept!
I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones have a truly Magnificent Christmas!
+1000. I've worked on following The Man best I can since I was 11.
We're JUST now finishing our cards, watching as I type for the mailman to arrive- raining, dangit!
I can get Prime filet trimmings from work at $2/lb, bought 25# last night. Guess what I'm giving for Christmas this year?
Going to see Cyrus Chestnut in a couple of hours, after dinner at a primo burger joint, Stock and Barrel. Only bummer- my sweetie has disallowed me to go to the show with my Christmas Sasquatch sweater. Me sad.
