I see it starting in middle school. The kids are obviously being taught about it, but simply don't have the wisdom to apply what is being taught. I'm not sure the teachers have the wisdom to teach it. I've been called racist on the bus more times than I can keep track of. These days telling someone to stay seated on a moving bus is racist. We are actually issued note books and encouraged to keep a log of the problem students "just in case". Just a quick note of the date and what happened. It's handy to be able to go back and read the list of discipline issues when confronted. Gives new meaning to "defensive driving". | ||

At the school where my wife worked a problem kid acted up on the bus again. He denied everything, but when he was told that they would show the video from the bus to his parents, he confessed. There wasn't actually any video, ha ha. She also had extra duty riding on the bus for a while to quell mutinies, for grade school. | ||

There is no way I would drive a bus without video rolling. Certainly saved me when 5th grader accused me of sexual assault. I've known at least 3 other drivers who have been accused of various things. One of sexual assault by the same student that accused me. | ||

School bus driver has been suggested as my next career.... No thank you. I have close friends who are. Not my cuppa. I don't hate children, individually, but dealing with groups? While driving? I'd rather pull night shift at a convenience store. Armed robbery is easier to deal with than teenage girls. | ||
