OK . . . that I, too, shall retire. I am just glad to know I wasn't going crazy. Some of those "American Thinker" articles take a bit of vetting to get the facts to reconcile. I've been trying to read a variety of articles . . . left, middle and right and journalism and objectiveness has pretty well gone the way of the steering column mounted ignition advance lever. Not a big deal . . .but I just wanted to see if it said what was indicated. Just sounded preposterous. Thanks |

The numbers are hypothetically in the census pages, but I kept hitting dead links from their search engine, and the graphic doesn't explain by what reasoning Detroit was #4. I got the Detroit #1 in 1960 factoid from several sources, all seem to have taken it from the mic.com article..... And from my father, I'll have to ask where he got it, since he doesn't read right leaning internet stuff like American Thinker. But does have the mainstream news on all day, and reads voraciously magazines like Smithsonian and Popular Mechanics. I also listen to NPR. If you saw me yelling at my car radio, ( a daily activity ) you can't know if it's left or right pundits I'm cursing. I was stopped in traffic this year, yelled, "Boyles law! Moron!" at the radio, then glanced at the car next to me at frightened people who also had their window down. I waved & smiled. No one has passion about Ideal Gas Laws anymore. |

Not mine:Here you go Patrick, "The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic(absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct...leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."" |

Our jr. Senator isn't the sharpest spoon in the drawer. The Dems are counting on the media to praise them for evils that the Reps wouldn't be allowed to do. Call a woman a slut because her Democrat boyfriend beat her, and she won't be heard in tv. That's a good example. Yeah, you Keith. Rape a woman, and every women should drop to her knees and felate him, because of his pro-choice position. Yeah, you, Bill. In yesterday's episode, the victim had two interesting things happen, first, someone in one of three groups violated her wishes to be anonymous, her California representative & her office staff, her Senator Diane Feinstein & her office staff, her mystery paid Party Lawyers. Feinstein adamantly denies being the guilty party. The other interesting thing is either the victim is lying about not knowing the Chairman of the committee offered to come to her, and who arranged for a polygraph, or her lawyers lied to her. It seems to me a ka-jillion $$ lawsuit is needed here, and a FBI investigation. Dr. Ford has had her reputation for honesty and sanity destroyed. Doesn't matter that I suspect she might deserve it, she was ruined apparently by her "hired by someone else, and beholden to their political masters, not the client they legally are obligated to protect". The lawyers need to be investigated, and their paymasters exposed, both for criminal & civil lawsuit purposes. The crimes committed against Dr. Ford are real, and must not be ignored. There's an enormous amount of money to be made by smart aggressive lawyers who sue on her behalf. |

Every home, mansion, vacation condo, that these, often millionaires, own. Every property, business, charity, tax dodge. They work for us. We should know where their private retreats are. How much each house is taxed at vs. Estimated value. What exactly, is their wealth and does it seem possible to accumulate it on their paychecks? Who is taking what bribes from who? Maybe I should buy a domain name and start an Employee resource guide? A one stop shop for all interested in understanding their Federal Elected Employee Representatives? |

Good suggestion. The appointee layer needs to be appreciated as well. I wouldn't advertise normal Federal employees info. THEY have an expectation and right to some privacy, just like you. To personalize this, the Postmaster General is appointed by politicians, the President. There are a few spots below him that are his whim folk, also political if not directly appointed. Under THEM, is a layer of permanent management, that don't change, century to century, or admin to admin, and they just get shuffled to more or less desirable jobs until they retire. Layoffs are in layers below them. Desirable is rated by geography and # of folk they are responsible for. So out of favor guys get Montana and few minions. Or DC and few minions. In favor guys get near their homes and many minions. Like the military, there are preferred bases, and then there is Adak & Greenland. I do note that the Post Office is semi privatization hell and unlike, say, the EPA, is actually required to do a specified job. And further, that despite the rare cases of those prosecuted and sent to prison for not doing the job ( hiding mail in the garage instead of delivering it ) the vast majority do, in fact, do their jobs to the best of their ability under horrific pressure from upper management. Another huge difference is the EPA can poison a river and no one gets fired or goes to jail. Postal workers do. Every employee must watch the security video of the violent take down of the idiot who was stealing nickles from the guilt trip charity letters. Yes, I'm serious. Yes, he went to prison. I have nothing but praise for my rank and file sisters and brothers in the Post Office. And the Unions, even though I complain about political donations. EDit. Changed praised to appreciated in second sentence to reduce irony content. A tiny bit. (Message edited by Aesquire on September 30, 2018) |

Postmasters are generally nice folk. I'm talking the permanent demigod in the bureaucracy older than the country. Postmaster is a fleeting job for many. They get kicked around & bumped from office to office. I've known jerks & great ones. Wayyyyyyy down the totem pole. |

Prog hacks? Communist agitators. Not even One step short of violent assault. Sponsored by Hydra. The entire Kavenaugh circus is paid for by Soros. Paid actresses in red robes from bad Canadian anti Christian science fiction. Multiple women accusers. The Democrats have a long history of j'accuse! Blaming their enemies for sins they themselves commit. Gang rape and pedophilia? Kennedy & Dodd waitress sandwiches, half the crazy talk on infowars is child abuse organized sexual crime by, of course, Democrat celebrities. Bill Clinton on the Lolita plane to 'screw an underage sex slave' island. If they accuse us, they are guilty of it, time after time. Us old white patriarchs have a duty to bring to justice the abusers of women. Mostly because we are the only ones that do. Every lie about separating children from, often their rapists lying that they are family, is another example of j'accuse! Crimes done blamed on others. Every defense of Sharia and forced genital mutilation. It's no wonder infowars is able to push the pedophile rumors with 3 results. No legal action, because an investigation would show the rumors are true. ( if they were false, they'd sue ) Total coordinated silencing effort by all lefty Social Media sources. An increasing number who, because of one & two, are beginning to believe that kiddie rape is the big secret vice in Hollywood and DC. |

https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/10/where _does_christine_fords_memory_intersect_with_the_tr uth.html My initial impression of a 36 year delayed memory of sexual abuse was that it seemed like other cases of "recovered memory". And that has been repeatedly shown to be better called implanted false memories. Case after case of people falsely accused, families destroyed, prison terms for the innocent. No, your father didn't rape you when you were 12, and you suppressed any memory until the "therapist" walked you through a hypnosis like process and fed you that belief. The trouble with false, implanted memories is that you believe them. It's a technique that's all too easy to use, and gets dramatic and quick results. So it's use is seductive.... And feeds the ego of the user. I haven't found where this Clockwork Orange technique was invented, and I'm really curious. So, to this moment, I don't know if Psych Major Graduate ( but not an accredited psych doctor ) Ford is a partisan lying sack of crap, or a partisan victim of a six year mind rape supposedly perpetrated during couples counseling/therapy.... But ONLY when Judge Kavenaugh was on a public list for Supreme Court nomination. I wonder who suggested that therapy & therapist? I have unanswered questions. Some, are protected by medical privacy rules that I don't disagree with. Others may get answered it there is an honest investigation of what seems to be felony perjury. I have doubts that such an investigation will happen. So, I'm not going to pile on the Hate Ford train. She might deserve it, but it's more than possible she's almost as much a victim as we are, subject to the lies and character assassination by the Left. Remember, the Left wants to destroy any opposition. And the use of cannon fodder, disposable fools, is their primary MO. The sad thing about disposable fools, is the contempt the leaders have for them. Senator Schumer and Feinstein hate you, they think you are too stupid to see how wonderful being a servant to them is. But Ford? Less than the filth they scrape from their shoes. They don't want to have emotional attachment to the knife they leave between other's ribs. Just a tool. And the slave owning mentality of the Left, depends on believing others are not really human so they don't have to feel guilty for using them up as tools. |

No, your father didn't rape you when you were 12, and you suppressed any memory until the "therapist" walked you through a hypnosis like process and fed you that belief. Fox had Kristy Swanson (Buffy) on last night. She was abused as a teen and as a young actress, and echoed what I said earlier about my accident PTSD - you simply don't forget. She spoke along the lines of "I remember every detail; there is no way to forget. I remember every...(she actually had to pause to collect herself)...I remember everything that happened". She went on to say her ordeals were in the early 80s as well - time is not an excuse, you don't "block" or "forget" stuff like that only to have it called back up decades later in therapy. It just doesn't leave. This doesn't mean I don't support victims; that I don't want justice for them. I absolutely do. For REAL victims. Much as I hate to say it, I don't see anything that factually supports Dr. Ford's claims of abuse. If that changes, I'll absolutely back her in her search for justice, but right now? Nah. All I see is a Hydra stunt, sorry to say. 4:52 today will tell the tale, I suppose. |

Like many this past week, I've had discussions with folks I work with about this process. Two of those discussions took unexpected turns. One, the woman I was talking to told me she had been raped at 12. Didn't know the attacker, and he was never brought to justice. She told me she remembered details of that day vividly. A second, the woman I was talking to told me she had been a victim of a sexual attack. I certainly wasn't going to pry for details beyond that, but she too said she too remembers the details of that day. I can't say that a victim will never block out details of such a day. I do find it difficult to accept that she wouldn't remember how she got to that party. Presumably it was with her good friend, who unfortunate doesn't remember being at such a party. Almost more improbable, is how did she get home? Supposedly not from someone at the party. Who was her knight in shining armor that rescued her to safety? Someone she would have spent a fair amount of time with right after this traumatic event. Difficult to imagine that she wouldn't remember something about who made her escape from this possible. Equally as odd, nobody has come forward as the person to saved her from this situation. Perhaps this person just hasn't see the news this past week? There is precious little to support Ford's story, and a great deal that seems to refute her story. Sadly, she is the most credible of those that accused Kavanaugh of this sort of crime. Some of those have admitted to false statements, and I heard the FBI is actually looking at prosecuting one of them. We have been asked to believe that the piling on of accusers lends credibility to the accusers. When the majority of the accusers are proven to be false accusers, what does that tell us? It tells me, that there was likely an effort to create these stories from thin air. I'm really not sure where our country goes from here. There is an ever growing chasm between the political parties. I am completely convinced that the left is driving this as hard as they can. If this continues, and I seen nothing to make me believe that it won't, it will certainly end in violence. Much more violence that we currently are seeing, but something much closer to civil war. I do believe that this is what they are striving for. It is the only way forward with a form of government that they support, but would be in conflict with our Constitution, which describes a government limited by it's own founding documents. This is all likely to continue as long as education and the press are controlled by progressives. We certainly live in interesting times. |

I share your fear that violence is on the horizon, and I don't know where it will lead or how it will end. I can pretty much guess though, that there will be more liberal casualties once the conservatives (who own, train, and know how to properly utilize their sidearms) decide enough is enough and start to fight back. It's only a matter of time until "thank you sir may I have another" becomes "oh you did NOT just do THAT..." Hopefully these hearings, and this vote, will be a wakeup call to the instigators that these tactics aren't viable anymore, and they'll stop (or at least slow) the incitement and aggression. If they don't push for it, the useful idiots certainly won't decide to start it on their own. But I hope they keep acting like asshats through the midterms, just so the GOP can absolutely CEMENT their advantage. |
