Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but I thought Oldog had passed away?? There was an old guy at a BITA years ago whom I thought was Oldog, with a seriously modded tube frame Buell... later I'd heard he'd died. Sorry, just sayin'. |

Brad, You're thinking of Buellistic. Oldog is still kicking. A few weeks ago he and I redid the forks on my XB. Just before he got his right kidney yanked (I probably shouldn't have divulged this info). I got an update this am that Oldog is doing really good. |

I imagine Kristi and Carlos are glad they aren’t in NC right now. |

Projected path is going right over us... eventually. Hopefully the huge trees around our house hold up. Hope everyone in NC is doing ok |

Friends inland are concerned about saturated ground and wind possibly uprooting trees. Stay safe everybody. |

The crazy thing about this track is how uncertain it still is even this close to landfall. The “path” on the map above is basically the average of all the computer models, but they’re saying it could actually track anywhere within that bubble. If it follows the line, it’ll be nearly on top of me at 2 PM on Saturday, but it could miss me by 100 miles to the north or 100 miles to the south. |

Okay, I know it sounds cold but, if the greenies can tell how high global temps will rise within .1 degrees in x years why can't they predict the track of something that can actually be seen? Hmmm? G |

The Weather Channel is showing crews rescuing folks from flooded areas in New Bern. Hopefully Brankin is high and dry! |

I am high and dry. I live on the 2nd floor, 1st floor is all garage. I'm about 15 miles outside of New Bern, and things look OK from my limited sight out. Doesn't sound like I'll be stepping foot outside too soon. Only time I've seen flooding here was with Matthew a couple of years back. The bot launch a couple of miles down the road flooded onto the road I live on, but only for less than an eighth of a mile. As close as I am, I'm doing fairly well. Still lacking power, of course. |

Glad to hear it. The worst thing about the power outage is that this storm is moving so slowly, it’ll be another day or two before the wind dies down enough for the crews to come out and start making repairs. |

We're all good in KVegas (Kernersville). Little wind and that's it. Rains will come in Sunday which will be the concern. We've had days with 3-4" of rain pretty much weekly or twice a week all summer; what they're calling for is something we're used to, but the ground is already pretty saturated... |

Do not seek shelter in your attic. You can become trapped if the water rises. Lots of people died that way in Katrina. |

Rains will come in Sunday which will be the concern. Alex, when we're done with all our rain up here in the mountains, we're gonna send all the runoff your direction. Sorry about that. Do not seek shelter in your attic. You can become trapped if the water rises. Good advice. |

I'd concur with that "don't hide in the attic" . . . . reports are already coming on of those brace souls who were going to "tough it out" being found in attics and cars.

There's the human side of me that feels for these folks. Then, there's the adult side. You were told to GET OUT, in no uncertain terms. Now, because of your stupidity and arrogance, you're putting OTHER people's lives at risk when you expect them to come rescue you from your own stupidity. Sympathy is hard to muster here... |
