Being a serious advocate of fire pit jinga, while camping at a full to capacity, nice peaceful lake front camp ground site, I made an error in judgment this evening. We had the fire ring plenty hot and real nice blue hot flames deep in the fire. We were drinking Coors Light in the wide mouth cans. Yes.....the dummy screwed the top on his first empty can of the evening.....placed it into a hole deep into the blue hot coals. That mother blew up sounding like a 4.10 shot gun firing a slug! The echo across the lake off the concrete dam and a rock wall I was certain to bring the cops in on me. It was after quiet time in the campground. The stupid thing also blew hot flaming coals in a shot blast pattern about 30 feet out one side. I was kind of busy stomping out small fires and hot coals with my new water shoes when I noticed the top of one was on fire. No one was hurt, the cops did not come, I got the fire out quickly. Best Coors can explosion yet! So.....anyone else do anything incredibly stupid lately?? |

As soon as you said,".....placed it into a hole". No need to hold your beer. On a side note; placing on top of coals with a small amount of liquid in it should yield the best pressure for sound effects. |

And if you figure out the typical failure point (cap, shoulder, base, etc), you can place them a certain way and usually get yourself some nice projectile launches. I've heard.

Rocks can explode when put in the fire too. Don't ask me how I know. |

Don't use gasoline for liquid in the aluminum vessel. |

Usually one gunshot will go un-noticed. The second shot gets peoples attention. It is why a single strike breaking a window isn't noticed by most people. I can neither confirm or deny intimate knowledge of said subject matter. |

Respect fish hooks, especially modern treble hooks. Don't ask me how I know. No, I don't have a picture! |

Sadly, no, I wasn't there. It's time for some lakeside camping though. Glad to hear all's normal with you Vern! |

I used to have a friend that worked at a tire shop, and had an endless supply of used shock absorbers that would wind up in the fire pits. Not as dangerous as it sounds (for the most part), but you really don't want to be too close when the hot oil sprays out under pressure. |

Normal? .....oh, nevermind....."Normal as seen from your point of view!". Lol LOL+1 I remember seeing the end of a shock absorber that was just what was needed on one of my projects. So, out came the cutting torch so I could harvest the precious little piece. Hot oil, oxygen, and no beer to have anyone hold.... |

I HATE Coors Light. I'll drink it ONLY to help out Firepit Jenga... maybe there are better beers with screw caps, I dunno. |

Coors light is what you drink when you don't want to risk the water. Assume I wrote something about safety and responsibility here. Waggle finger. Stern look. |

Know how Coors beer and sex in a canoe are related? They are both Effin near water. Z (Message edited by zac4mac on September 08, 2018) |

Why is it that the Coors light is the brand that goes quickly at Buell events? Not just for the cans is it? I believe Miller Lite had the wide mouth cans first, but it is seldom seen around. Oh well....back to your heavy guck flavored beers. |

Well beer is one subject that has even more opinions than politics! Very subjective indeed. Beer is like wine, if you like it then it's good! To be honest, of the 3 major light beers Coors would be my choice. It doesn't taste like much but it doesn't taste bad either! Michelob Golden Draft Light would be my "go to" if it were around, but then if there was some non "light" beer there then I'd be happier. To each their own, but it doesn't mean were not going give you crap about it! |

Light beer is for people who don’t really like the taste of beer, but who do like to pee a lot. |

Alright. I will admit, through years of alpha testing by mass consumption, I don't particularly like the taste of beer. I never did. Beyond that, if not for the affects of the alcohol in the beers I would never have consumed it. Coors light is like a "clear" flavored beer. Not unlike all of the flavors of moonshine now out. I have a respect for those of you who enjoy the flavors and being able to discern them back to their origin. Likewise with cigars. They just hit my palette all wrong. So I like my ice cold clear water beer and its lite alcohol effect. When I fill my cooler with them feel free to help me empty a few fire pit bombs! |

Lite beer is the work of the devil. It all tastes like fizzy water to me. I like the original Michelob Lager but it's hard to find. While I'm ranting, beer should taste like hops and not fruit. |

http://hookedonhops.com/2013/07/15/what-the-hell-d oes-hoppy-mean/ Hops are one of the least understood ingredients in beer. Most people think they add only a bitter taste. G |
