How many of us were here twenty years ago and still have their Buell, or at least a Buell of some sort if not what they had back then?
This from June 2000 turn of the century! Happy 20th Rocket in England |

Nice to see you still kicking, Sean. Bought my 1997 S1 new and came here around the very beginning. Have since owned an X1 and my current S3T. The S1, X1, and an ST4 Ducati had to go in the divorce. Long live old Buells and Buellers. SteveH |

Well, I would have joined you guys as I had my eye on a Buell when I bought my sportster back in 95 (still have it and am in the process of a ground up restoration). The SO had the final say because she didn't feel comfortable on the back of that Buell, but was more than excited to ride on the back of my HD Vibrator. Wise choice at the time. Took me almost 20 years to get my first Buell. I have some catching up to do. |

Who'd a thuk they figured I'm a danger to myself and others on the motorway, so I've been regulated to trail riding. Not a bad trade, ya almost never see cops, unless you're on national forest. Track day is $20 to camp and $20 a day to ride. All day long. Back in the day...

Dave, last time you and I rode together was my first time to Little Switzerland... you were riding with Tim and Jenn, who have no fear of death or dying... I cooked the rear brake juice on that Triumph, realized I'm not fast anymore. I'd dearly love to plan a dirtbike excursion from your digs, with all the remaining nutjobs. |

In 1991 I bought an Electra Glide Sport from Dale Walksler. While I had it in for my 1000 mile service Dale asked if I'd like to ride this bike called a Buell. What the hell is a Buell? It was orange and black and totally covered with plastic or fiberglass. He told me it had a Harley engine with a four speed tranny. Well, I had nothing better to do so I took it for a ride. It was pretty amazing even if I had to slip the clutch all the way across an intersection! I would just look at a curve and the bike was leaning. I had never ridden anything like it. BUT, I had just bought the dresser and already had a BMW K bike at home so I passed on it. Some things we kick ourselves for!! I loved sitting on the Buells but to be honest, they were just too small for me...until the Ulysses! In 2006 I finally got a Buell that fit me. Thanks Erik! |
