Anyone mount the ez pass inside the plastic fairing on xbs or 1125cr or similar? Any trouble with it? |

I put mine in a small bag behind the flyscreen on my X1. Worked just fine. |

I've personally not had much luck with the EZpass regardless where I've tried it. In topcase, saddle bags, tank bags, under the flyscreen, in my jacket, and a handlebar mount. Still only worked like 1 in 4 times at best. These days I just keep it in my jacket, and make sure my plate is on file. If the toll booth is one of the ones with a gate, I go to a full-service lane so I can easily give the pass to the worker if it didn't pick it up. For the ones without a gate, I just go through the EZpass lane and if it reads, it reads. Your plate is on file so you shouldn't get hit with a fine should it not read. |

I’m pretty sure that the ez-pass rules and regs says that motorcycles should always have the transponder accessible and to use attended lanes. I’ve always put mine in the tankbag with no problem. Of course, on the last ADK Rally I forgot to bring the damn thing with me. Coming home I took part of the Mass Pike which doesn’t have toll booths anymore. When I checked my ez-pass statement later I found it’s just like Froggy says. They read my plate and charged me the discounted rate. |

Tank bag. front pocket with the locktite. If it's not read no big deal, as noted above. But I never had the problem. I had my ex-pass run out last week, on the way home from Pittsburgh, didn't care a bit, "low funds" on the way out" out of funds on the way back, when I got home I gave them my new credit card. The reason all my payments went wonky, all those auto pay accounts stall out when the old card is cancelled. |

Shipping tape it to a fork upper. The plastic fastener has no function except to hold it, and I don't trust the glue on those fasteners, in hot & greasy environments. It's RF, so other than a foil bag, ( Which they supply to carry it in other vehicles or when you don't want to use it ) you can put it in any container you want, preferably forward & high. The reason people put them on the windshield of a car is so the metal car body doesn't block the signal. Inside the airbox, if plastic, ( carbon fibre will block the signal ) behind a plastic fairing, front pocket of riding suit, tank bag, ( high & up so the tool kit I carry doesn't block the signal ) all good. And it's easy to test. Just ride through a toll booth. If it burps, move it. Bury it in a fake helmet Mohawk for all I care. I actually do NOT suggest helmet mounting for safety reasons. happy to argue that at length, but no need to preach, I think, just state my objection. Fun fact, Carbon fibre is more expensive than fiberglass, but stronger, inch per inch. Modern carbon fibre airplanes still use fiberglass in areas they want to have antennas, like the tip of the vertical fin & wing tips, because carbon will block RF. It can be weird to see an unpainted or in progress airplane project, all glossy black, except for a big yellowish panel in some places. |

It worked well mounted inside the plastic fairing on my 1125cr. Rode from central connecticut to saratoga ny and back and no problems in ma or ny with the ez pass. |

I used to wedge mine in between the pillion cover and the seat cushion. |

I attached a piece of velcro across the front of mine and attached it to the waist strap of my riding jacket. I sandwich the EZpass in between the strap. |
