I know we have a lot of musicians, photographers and cycling fans (of all disciplines), but I'm curious if there are RC fans amongst us too... Since moving to DC, I rekindled my young passion for RC... First a Tamyia TT-01E Porsche 911 (which I am resisting upgrading), then a Dromida DT4.18 brushless, then a Traxxas 2wd Slash, which has had a a few Jekyll and Monster Hyde transformations...
The Slash is now running a 3S brushless drivetrain... ridiculous fun |

I have an old Associated RC10 T2. Still has dead NiCd batteries. Been thinking of getting some new batteries and running it again. There's a real nice track a mile from my house the local hobby shop maintains. Good to see you on the boards, Graham. Gonna make Homecoming? Z |

I'll have to dig my two out of storage. They'll probably both need new battery packs and the controllers will need new batteries too. Been a LONG time since I raced them. |

Absolutely. Mostly running onroad now, but I do have a couple of comp crawlers, a few scalers, a Slash with a brushless setup, and heavily modded Clodbuster. Plus all of the onroad cars.

I'll go from small to big... Team Losi Mini-T - 2s brushless, all possible aluminum parts except the chassis Arrma ADX-10 - 3s brushless - all the breakable stuff replaced with aluminum or stainless. HPI Sprint 2 - 3s brushless - all breakables replaced with aluminum Traxxas Summit - dual 3s brushless - custom diffs front & rear, mostly aluminum undercarriage, oversize rocklox rims and tires... - this thing is currently a pile of parts in some type of transition to each other. Traxxas LaTrax drone, 2s modified, not worth making brushless but still fun I'll go digging around for some pictures later, new phone so probably have to boot up the old one to find some. Or go rooting through the garage... yeah I like R/C |

Cool! It's good to be back Zac! I won't make Homecoming, but really hoping to do WV Buell Rally if it's on, and/or Buelltoberfest... And thinking about getting a (cheap) sportbike again... Really good to see some others into RC! I've got all three of mine running LiPo now, wish I'd done it from the start, worth it just for the increased runtime! I've been doing a lot of work on the Slash, I'll post some pics later... |

At one point I remember having more money in my RC10 than most of my co-workers had in their commuter cars. Every possible moving part went to ball-bearings, servos included. It was my "sidekick" when I was a traveling robot doctor. Good stress management, chasing cars in the hotel parking lot. I've tried a few drones but none good enough to have any fun with, so far... I have an RC motorcycle I built too (Tamiya model). Wayne Gardner on the Honda (that's how long ago it was). I remember racing that thing through the halls at work back in the day. |

I have a generic Chinese 1/12 scale gas buggy (Exceed/HSP/Himoto) and an Ofna JL12E (Active Hobby A210DS). The former has a tuned pipe and some alloy chassis bits. It's pretty durable and with mild jetting has stood the test of time. It eats rear pinion gears on occasion. The latter I over motored a bit and it eats tires and axles and is a pain to tame as it's very sensitive to chassis tuning and tire choice. I spend as much time trying to get it to travel in a straight line as I do driving it. I had a Walkera 5G6 4CH all metal head micro heli until that died. It's now obsolete with dead batteries and a dead motor and isn't really worth fixing. It was a load of fun while it worked. I've currently got a Hubsan H107C micro drone, and it's actually pretty good. Once the settings are adjusted and it's set in "expert mode" it's capable of outdoor flight and impressive speeds for such a tiny thing. The kid has a Holy Stone mini drone after a Sharper Image drone model died prematurely. Back in the day I had an RC10T, and it was good. Also had an Ofna 1/10th nitro F1, a 1/8th nitro monster truck, and a Cox 1/12th .049 GTP car. When I was a kid I put a Frog together with spare parts and put a monster sprint motor in it. That piece of junk was a riot. I also had an early Traxxas buggy that snapped its chassis rather quickly. That was the most disappointing. They all break and cost money. |

My "Gunk" Slash has been reborn...

Much like cars, guitars, and motorcycles, I seem to enjoy the painting and building as much as driving/playing/riding... I'm pretty happy with how this little RAM turned out, the next one will be better. I do wish it was a 4x4 chassis. A colleague wants me to buy a Tekno SCT4.10, but Associated ProSC and ARRMA Senton 4x4 seem much better value for money. |

My Arrma buggy has been one of the toughest RC`s I`ve ever owned. |

I keep hearing good things about the Arrma stuff, and the Senton truck I'm looking at is really well priced... |

My buggy is definitely not the lightest in terms of weight, by any means... but damn it if I can't just bash the shit out of it. When all my other high dollar stuff is broken, I can always turn back to the ADX-10 and get some laps in. |

I raced in the 80s in England. Had a fortune tied up in R/Cs. 2x and 4x buggies, Formula cars, Trucks, Tractor trailers, Tracked vehicles, and motorcycles. Even jeeps and cars just for pulling wheelies and stunting. My newest toy is still in parts in the back yard. 300 pound, twin engine, 6 wheels, 2 12 volt batteries, first person viewer, 2.4 Ghz 6EX Futaba radio, able to push a car. I need to retire again so I can get back to work on it. |

I got a Traxxis Slash 4x4 with the Funny car motor in it. It hauls ass to about 55 MPH. So much so that I have kinda torn up the drivetrain. gotta Rebuild it sometime. Love drifting that thing all over the local High School parking lot. |
