Aesquire:

I seem to recall a similar themed movie from the 70's called Flesh Gordon.

Published in an academic journal:

Even if the journal editors are flaming leftists, why did they accept an article that was Geography-free?

Watch this from about 18:00 in. Feminazis triggered by basic biology. Ridiculous.

A long time ago, I remember PETArds protesting in front of a local KFC.
My friends and I were planning on setting up my webber and having a nice barbecue in the parking area.

By the time me and my slacker friends got together, the protest had already broken up and we ended up not just having a normal barbecue in my back yard.

Failed to troll.
Succeeded to eat.

They probably had a free bison burger in the back where they wouldn't be on video.

Bison burgers are low fat and tasty. One of the remaining critters from the mega fauna era. ( moose & brown bear are others )

That's why I look forward to mammoths returning. Awesome steaks.

A friend owned the Fishermans Dude Ranch in the Chicago area. He stocked a pond with trout and people paid to fish there, great fun for kids. PETA picketed him and he saw how much attention it was bringing, so he brought coffee and donuts out to them.

And now he is upset about it.

Let's see - He decided to get on the big league field and play the big league game. He found out how that much attention really works. He also discovered that a 4.1GPA doesn't carry much weight when you have his ethnic background. And that there are OTHER sides to things like Equal Opportunity and Illegal Immigration.

Welcome to the real world, young man. Best of luck to you.

Yeah . . . .I think having some rules against "doggy style" are important on a college campus.

Good for this young girl . . . devoting her life to stopping doggy style in it's tracks.

I've learned to put on hold my usual reaction to people who try to guilt trip me. Then carefully consider their viewpoint and if the criticism is justified.

I had a roommate, sharing a rental with my high school buddy & his brother. Brother would manipulate everyone he could with guilt trips. So I developed a severe reaction to that kind of crud.

Then I had to moderate my conditioned reflex after getting away from that toxic environment. I was too quick to reject the guilt trip input.

So. After calm deliberation and self honest analysis of if I was indeed in the wrong, I could react in a civil manner as appropriate.

Re: Husky dog logo. Bite me. Get your furry minded ego out of our face. Your idiocy at terming a drawing of a Freaking puppy as rape diminishes the real pain of real victims. Go volunteer at a women's shelter and grow the heck up before someone punches you in the face.

Guilt trips do not work on me and never have.

That's because I am not a Cathoholic.

My wife was raised Baptist.

Hah! Catholics. Go ask a Jewish friend and he'll tell you who invented Guilt!

Guilt, the feeling you did something wrong, and it's on you, is a great thing for humanity and personal growth.

False attempts to make you feel bad to manipulate you, that should make Them feel guilty.

There's a whole rant on Guilt vs. Shame. Not the same at all. For another day.

Kind of a group award, possibly leading to
Snowflake Of The Week - The administrators of the state of Pennsylvania school systems. After one system decided to supply buckets of river rocks to staff in case of attack, another system has decided 18in replica baseball bats will be their defense of choice. Really.

Walking in the woods is now too dangerous.

My college had a sky sports club and fielded a skydiving team in international competition.

The administration did plotz when we handed them a trophy to go in the display case. I think telling them we beat Yale & Harvard convinced them.

America is becoming a funny place. Outdoor hiking joins the list of “unacceptably risky” behaviors since cellphone service can be sporadic. I wonder how these folks think Admiral Byrd went to the North Pole or Sir Edmund Hillary to the top of Mt. Everest . . . two locations where there is still no cell service. I shudder to think of the hikes I went on at day camp, absent cell phones, and the long night infiltration exercises across the Mojave in the Marine Corps. Gads . . . I am lucky to be here.

Two other student groups also got the axe as a result of the risk assessment, the Nittany Grotto Caving Club and the Nittany Divers SCUBA Club, who were similarly told to end trip offerings.

SCUBA - that's why there's a buddy system.

Caving and hiking - it's called shortwave radio. No cell service required. "Far from emergency services" - it's called First Aid Training. Combined with shortwave, you can stabilize until help (which you called with the shortwave) arrives.

I grew up in the woods. Camping. Hiking. Caving (spelunking, technically). Rapelling. Zip-lining. Whitewater kayaking and canoeing. Cooking on open fires. Sleeping on the ground in a canvas tent. Sleeping in caves a quarter mile underground. All before cell phones even existed.

Oh, the horror....however did I survive??

Oh.

Wait.

That first-aid training thing, and those hand-cranked shortwave radio things.

And common sense.

Although...in my fifteen or so years of hardcore, all-summer-long every-summer-camping, I can't remember anyone in our group (this was a summer camp with typically 150+ boys, age 9-17, and counselors from 16-25) ever needing more than a band-aid, or some caladryl.

Damned common sense.

How soft can we breed our species to be?

Short wave? What frequencies are used for spelunkers?
I would have thought a longwave would be more appropriate underground.
