Who's going? I took the week off and no drama this year so I expect to be over there at least 5-6 days this year. |

I'll be there. I'm tent camping at the Speedway from Wednesday night through Sunday morning. I've got my tickets to the TT and the 200. I'll have to buy a ticket to Friday's practice for the 200, but that's only $20.00. So I get to camp for four nights for twenty bucks. The KOA in St. Augustine wanted $55.00 (plus tax) per night. That's a steal of a deal! |

I'm going to be on the other side of the state in Port Charolotte, but am bringing my bike down with the intent to truck over there for a couple days, sleep in the truck and ride on the coast. My wife has not decided whether she wants to join me or stay poolside at the in-laws retirement condo. (I already know I couldn't do a week of that.) If I can time it right, I may even try to find Crusty in the crowd at the races. but I would have to beat feet back and head for home, cuz my wife wouldn't take any more time off work. |

I've got an idea. Why don't we have a meet up at Robinson Brothers BBQ on Friday evening? The address is: 637 S Doctor M.L.K. Jr Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. We could meet there at, say, 6:00 and enjoy some good conversation and food. Google gives it 4 1/2 stars, so it sounds promising. Oh; I'll be in Daytona from Wednesday evening until Sunday morning. Anyone who wants to can give me a call at (978) 8 seven zero - six zero 44. If you hear Super Chicken, you've reached my voice mail. feel free to leave a message. I'll be at the TT races on Thursday (Section 349 Row 15 Seat 1) and I've got a General Admission ticket for the 200, so I'm not quite sure where I'll be at for that. I hope to meet up with some of you at some point. Now that I looked up the BBQ joint, I'm hoping that I won't be the only Badwebber there! |

Crusty, are you talking about Friday night, March 16th? I'll be in the area, staying in Kissimmee so I have equal access to my friend on the Gulf Coast, Daytona and Orlando. I'll be leaving NY Saturday morning and expect to overnight at South of the Border. I should make it to my resort late Sunday afternoon. |

We're making progress! I live halfway between Orlando and Daytona but I spend more time riding in Daytona. That bbq place is in a questionable area of town but I'm still game if a couple of us are going. It says "cash only" so come prepared. |

If by questionable area you mean the Hood then you are correct. Not the nicest section of town. And I think i might have ate there along time ago, sounds failure. We can give that place a try. Trying to think of other idea if that's a bust but for BBQ and not chain the closest I can think of is called Captains BBQ at Bings landing http://captainsbbqbaittackle.com/ its about 40 min north of the speedway if you take 95, little over an hour if you take the nice way up A1A along the coast. |

Experience has taught me that very often the best BBQ will almost ALWAYS be in "da hood." Looks like the place is about 1:20 from where I'm staying. Glad you picked an early time, I don't want to get to bed too late as I want to hit the road back home early Saturday. (Message edited by jaimec on February 28, 2018) |

It looks like I'm gonna miss the "Q". By then I should be somewhere near Chattanooga. I planned to ride Wednesday and Thursday and depending on camping accommodations start the return leg to Minnesota Friday morning. I'll be checking in on Badweb to see who's where, once I leave Port Charlotte. IF you see a guy, (and possibly the Mrs. on pillion), in ATGAT on a blue streak 02 S3 it's probably me. If I miss all of you while I'm down there, Hopefully we'll see you at HC. I'm still looking for more info about the "Elf Fest 2018" Court mentioned. |

If you have a ticket to the TT, you can camp in the tent area of the Speedway infield for free on both Wednesday and Thursday nights. (you can't get in until after 6:00 on Wednesday evening) That's a lot cheaper than any campground I priced. The Speedway does have showers; I asked when I was on the phone buying my tickets. |

The only way I will make Daytona this year is if Wolfridgerider shows up on my porch to physically twist my arm. He will have to be riding a Buell. That is it. I have cast the net. |

I've created a "Facebook Event" for this over in the "Bad Weather Bikers of Facebook" group to see if we can attract anyone else. https://www.facebook.com/events/579032822443172/ |

"Ohhh I agree about good food always being in "da Hood" That's called "Soul Food", bro! In Nashville, Prince's Hot Chicken is the original... they won a James Beard award for original awesomeness a few years ago. Now there are gobs of competitors, heck, even KFC tried to jump on that wagon. Ack. You guys have fun... wish I could make it. |

I mounted the chock and tie downs in the 5 X 8 trailer over the weekend. I also fired up the S3. I prob'ly should have loaded it, now there's a couple inches of snow. I also have some trepidation walking the bike up the ramp, under power, and then ducking through a 4'W X 5'H door, to get onto the chock . Me and the bike are going to look like Gilligan and the Skipper trying to get through a door together. Its going to be soooo tight. I still need to chase down the bill of sale for the trailer, get tabs for the bike, and a few other items TBD. |

Nervously watching the weather. With two days to clear the roads I SHOULD be able to get out Saturday morning on schedule and make it to Dillon, SC ("South of the Border") by nightfall. |

SON OF A BITCH! I just realized I CAN'T join you guys unless they have BBQ fish (toss a couple of shrimp on the barbie?). It's a Friday, and we're in the Lenten season. |

Lots of places to eat over there so I'm sure we can find something to suit all. Probably be super busy at anything by the track. If we are set on BBQ, then this place is just down the road and has fish/shrimp also: http://www.backyardboysbbq.com/menu.html |

Jaime; they have Southern Fried Catfish on the menu either as a dinner, or a sandwich or even catfish fingers. They even have some nice sounding meatless sides, onion rings, breaded and fried squash, mac & cheese. You won't leave hungry, unless the food is really crappy; that's a gamble we'll all be taking. Even if the food is bad. (which I don't think it will be), I bet it'll be a good time. Usually that's true whenever a bunch of Badwebbers get together. Here; check out the menu: http://www.woodysbarbq.com/menu/CoreGeneric-2016.q xp-WoodysToGoImprint.pdf Now, an edit: The link I got is to Woody's BBQ, not Robinson Bros. I did a quick search and couldn't find a menu, so maybe we should try Backyard Boys, instead. Their menu has both shrimp and flounder on it. Since I've never eaten at either place, I can't say one is better than the other. If everybody's happy with the idea, we can just change the location. (Message edited by Crusty on March 07, 2018) |

Yes sir! Everyone travel safely. Temps are looking pretty good, 70-50s. Few nights it will dip into high 40s. Pack/dress accordingly and remember your sunscreen. |

Not as much snow fell as I feared up here and what is on the ground is melting rapidly. Above freezing temperatures during the daylight hours for the next few days should help. However, I wanted to leave early Saturday morning so I'm a little leery of black ice. Keeping my fingers crossed. I've already planned my first stop at 200 miles in: The Waffle House in Edgewood, MD!
