Hey all! Just bought a M2 Cyclone that has unfortunately only been rode 700 miles in the last 6 years. It seemed in pretty good shape for the most part and rode well and it was a good price so I scooped it up. So besides the obvious change the oil and put in fresh gas what other things should I really consider doing and what all do I need to check before I really start to ride it? Thanks! |

New tires would be an obvious one. Is it running? |

He said it rode well, so yeah... Tires. Brake fluid. Belt, maybe, but should be ok if it was stored indoors. |

Plugs, wires, be ready for gaskets, check and maybe clean/rebuild the carb. Check / lube the output shaft bearing - DAMHIK. |

Oh, and check the carb boot and intake seals. Be ready for them to crack and leak, along with the other gaskets and especially the pushrod bases. Check and tighten ALL fasteners, especially the header flange bolts or anything else that heat-cycles. |

Not bad. I rode the dog shit out of my CityX, sold it with 43K+ miles and a second motor installed. Good luck- if you're handy with a wrench, all you need is the info here on BW. So, Kentucky eh? Get that thing fixed up, ride her down to TWoS in Suches GA for April Buells coming up in mid April! There's another thread on the Quick Board, check it out. |
