http://www.cartwrightsmapletreeinn.com/ Feb 13 through April. All you can eat buck wheat pancakes and real local maple syrup. Great riding area with wild life and scenery. Many deer to run out to greet you. Seriously. Also weather. Snow, icy rain, dank drizzle. Check the weather before getting.the bike out. Also seriously. Early spring in this region is cold. The thermal mass of the lakes delays seasonal changes by about a month. ( compared to plains states ) This is a seasonal weekend restaurant. Well worth the detour if you have the time. Ironically the area is gorgeous in fall when the leaves turn. Now? Bare branches and grey skies. Please post other specialty or seasonal wonders. |

http://northcountrybrewing.com/ Not far off rt. 79 North Country Brew Pub has rustic hippie style, great sandwiches, & a selection of their own beers. I plan it for lunch on runs to Pittsburgh. Fancy sodas too, for those of us that don't drink and drive. Take home some fine brew. |

Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day: http://www.theshack25a.com/ Their prices aren't exactly cheap but that's because they have to pay the property taxes even when they aren't open for business. Still, it's a great roadside stop and very popular amongst the local motorcycling community. |
