I voted for Trump based on my opinions of the man, after watching him on live TV. NOT after watching people "report" on him. NOT after watching second- or third-hand information about him. I made my own choices. And...where, in these indictments, does it say anything along the lines of Trump and his campaign ASKING for these donations or rallies? Nowhere. People from any walk of life can spend their money any way they want, for any reason they see fit. If I buy a Dodge, how is that Dodge's fault that I didn't spend money at Ford? The Dems are just butt-hurt that nobody wanted to spend money to support THEM this time. |

Yes, some Americans were easy dupes. I think a bunch of them are in the FBI. Keep in mind, this investigation started as an investigation of the Trump campaign colluding with Russia. Backed by a fake dossier, largely produced by... Russians. Who got duped? This reeks of the FBI trumping up ANYTHING they could find to justify their surveillance of Trump's campaign. This is going to be fun to watch as details come forward. I wonder how many times CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, etc. go duped with bogus information. Meanwhile, it looks like Trump is clean, and doing the things he promised the people he would do. I'm not feeling duped at all. |

Way to go Mueller!!! He's exposed the fact that Russian agents are meddling in foreign affairs. WOW! Earth shattering news. Surely, nothing like this could have possibly been happening since the Cold War and well before. The Mueller investigation, ongoing for a year plus, has nabbed Flynn on a trumped up process crime and indictments for 13 Russian agents. The basis for the entire investigation centers around a phony fabricated document that the DNC paid for - a verifiable fact. Toro - ask yourself why this info comes out in the wake of a national tragedy that dominates all headlines. IT IS NOT NEWS. Try harder next time, bub. Edit: Thx for the Zappa lyrics, Glitch. Hadn't listened to that in ages! (Message edited by mtnmason on February 16, 2018) |

Duped by a YouTube or Twit advertisemen? Nope. Haven't seen any. Might as well be Cuban Voodoo priestess rites. Didn't see them either. Not especially new news. Unless there's a figure for Russian spending on pro Hillary ads. |

The Trump fan pundits go on about his secret plan to something or other. ( which they made up, or it wouldn't be secret ) I like the idea that eventually all of D.C. will pass through the Donald White House, resign in disgrace, be arrested, and ruined for politics forever. By the end of 4 years, even Nancy Pelosi will have been on the White House Staff and then been sent to prison. I have zero evidence for this idea, but the same is true of most of the political reporting the last decade. |

For those who weren't paying attention, the point of the Fox article is .... if you went to a Trump rally (where Trump was not in attendance) if you shared a "news story" on social media (that was not written by an accredited news source) if you reposted a meme from Facebook, Twitter or Instagram ...its quite possible you disseminated propaganda created by agents of Russia to create division within our country. I wonder how many members of this board are guilty of spreading Russian propaganda in their social media feeds or on this very board itself? Theres an old saying, "Loose lips sink ships". I'm sure the same thing applies to fingers clicking away on keyboards. |

I don't "social media" and as far as this site goes, if you haven't noticed we police ourselves pretty well. I've been told, as have many others, when something ain't right. We source articles, and when its our opinion we say so. Memes... yeah right, I forgot how influential Pepe is, was, and will be in everlasting internet webs. |

What about the "accredited" news sources that were duped by the Steele Dossier? What about the FBI themselves, being duped by the Steele Dossier. Your point is taken, but it should be taken much farther. The FBI is still showing it's partizan nature in what it chooses to investigate or ignore. It's amazing to see the obvious, that they ignore. BTW, did you happen to catch that the Russians promoted an anti-Trump rally on the same day as their Trump rally? Your one sided view of this issue makes it look like you are getting duped by your news sources yourself. Take your own advice. Or do wish to be known only as a troll? You are beginning to come off that way. |

Theres an old saying, "Loose lips sink ships". I'm sure the same thing applies to fingers clicking away on keyboards. Context. The "loose lips" campaign was created because troops were talking too much about planned military action. In other words...don't give away our secrets. Advertising for a rally(ies)? Hmm....not sure I see a correlation there... |

Sifo. As per the Steele dossier. Robert Mueller has yet to reveal his own investigation about the Steele dossier. Why don't you wait until Robert Mueller ascertains what is fake and real within the Steele dossier before you make broad sweeping statements about its legitimacy? There was a lot of misinformation about "Iraqi weapons of mass destruction" before there was a congressional committee that ultimately revealed the truth. There was a lot of misinformation about Lance Armstrong's doping before there was a UCI investigation which ultimately led to Armstrong's admission on television. Wouldn't you rather remain silent on the subject until all the information was revealed so that you could then make an unequivocal statement on the subject? |

There was a lot of misinformation about "Iraqi weapons of mass destruction" before there was a congressional committee that ultimately revealed the truth. I'm curious what you think the "truth" is regarding WMDs in Iraq. I worked with someone who was disposing of ordinance in Iraq. I've heard some of the stories. Saddam was no saint. |

Iraqi WMDs. The ones the Brits built the incinerator to destroy? The poison gas shells counted by the UN that were hidden in Saddam's arsenals among the conventional artillery shells? The poison gas shells used by mistake as IEDs? The repeated exposure to poison gas by US troops as they demolished stock piles of conventional artillery shells? The WMDs the New York Times detailed that the VA, under Obama, pretended didn't exist so the troops exposed to Iraqi poison gas wouldn't receive treatment for? Just making sure we are talking about the same thousands of tons of poison gas. The poison gas collected by Allied troops near Baghdad for disposal by the above mentioned incinerator, that the NY Times reported in danger of capture by ISIS? Last year? & we should discuss the sending of weapons to the various anti Assad forces by Obama including ISIS, According to the NY Times. But if you insist on forgetting all that for now and concentrating on the last two years of Putin's minions interference in American elections, then I'm with you. Prosecution of American political minions for spreading Russian propaganda is a great idea. So far the DNC and Hillary campaign offer plenty of obviously guilty parties with the Steele dossier alone. And I love to see politicians go to prison. So any R Party minions involved should be prosecuted as well. If, as seems obvious to me, Hillary herself was aided or enriched by bribes from Foreign governments, she should be in prison. If, as seems possible, Donald was actually given material aid from Foreign governments, he should be impeached and sent to prison. After fair and impartial investigation. That doesn't cover the felonies of the Hillary email affairs. That probably needs a special prosecutor. If Mueller is actually an honest law man, he'll do. ( lots of Conservative pundits say he's not honest. I'm skeptical ) & of course, Uranium One. Whole other pile of corruption to be prosecuted. & anything real involving Donald. I don't know what Donald did that's evil. I can't sort out all the lies told by the media arm of the DNC. |

Unfortunately spreading Russian/Soviet/Chinese propaganda isn't a crime, usually. Even the New York Times propaganda campaign to deny the slaughter by Stalin doesn't matter to law enforcement. Although it should matter to the credibility of the propaganda distributor. Then there's the First Amendment. For example, it's totally legitimate to have the opinion that Bush horrible mistakes during the occupation of Iraq. You could start with allowing the New Iraqi Constitution to include religious discrimination. Big fail. & the support for corrupt locals in power that should have been shot. I could go on. However pretending that there were no poison gas shells in Iraq is a propaganda lie. AQ & the Democrat Party both pushed that lie. Pity we can't prosecute those people. Although most are just repeating propaganda, not creating it for the destruction of western civilization. How much punishment do credulous fools really deserve? In America, none. Foolishness is expected. Pity, some days. |

However pretending that there were no poison gas shells in Iraq is a propaganda lie. Speaking of "Easy Dupes". If, as seems possible, Donald was actually given material aid from Foreign governments, he should be impeached and sent to prison. Why should Trump be impeached and jailed for being given material aid from Foreign governments? We are basically talking about information here. You can argue ethics all you like, but I'm not clear of the law(s) that would be violated by getting information from a foreign government. You seem to come to that same conclusion when you say... "Unfortunately spreading Russian/Soviet/Chinese propaganda isn't a crime, usually." |

It is a fact that Obama's State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to interfere with Israeli elections. Sifo, material aid would be illegal campaign donations like Obama took. Large sums of money from the UAE, & Syria were known to go to Obama. This was traced by web traffic to his contribution site after the Obama campaign turned off the legally mandated tracking. Material aid would not include the Clinton paid for opposition research Steele dossier or the promised but never apparently delivered opposition research used as an excuse to lobby Donald's minions for Putin. ( Trump tower meeting ) My comment on spreading communist propaganda to wreck America is bipartisan. Mostly the leftist media does this daily, but Republican establishment leadership isn't immune to using Russian propaganda, especially to attack their most hated enemy, Donald. Balancing freedom of speech and the lies of those who would rule you with hatred has always been a tough call. For example, George Soros spends billions to spread lies with dozens of shell companies. Yet it would be hard to convict him. What crimes, exactly? While I have little doubt he desires a planetary dictatorship that would ruthlessly murder all who disagree with him, I'm unaware of the legal way to prosecute the old Nazi. Maybe Toro knows, or you? |

Toro, you commented earlier how you would rather trust a veteran, Mueller, than others. I generally agree. It is very upsetting when someone with a record of service turns out to be dirty, like Randy Duke Cunningham. He was a hero to me in the past. His greed later in life doesn't change his good actions before, but has ruined our trust in him. Senator McCain is another veteran who I distrust, not for criminal reasons but ideology. John Kerry, veteran, appears to be a treasonous wretch giving aid and comfort to the enemy both back during the Vietnam war and this year with the Palestine dictatorship. However, I'd say, despite the rare cases above, I generally trust and will continue to be biased in favor of veterans. If you wanted to push a Starship Troopers amendment re: the voting franchise and political power, I might join you. |
