Do the Right Thing for your sweetie today.Make her/him know how important she/he is to you. You don't have to do the bullshit commercial things (unless your #1 really likes them) like flowers or chocolates or going out to dinner at White Castle (actually, I really like White Castles!); just do what shows them how much you care.

Yesterday my sweetie and I helped her BFF move some stuff (she's got LOTS and LOTS of stuff!!!), found we were starving, stopped on the way home for some "Chinese" which she loves. This evening I'm working, serving fine seafood, wines and such to a packed house, hopefully bringing home Bennie, Andy, maybe Bennie's twin if I'm lucky.
Took tomorrow off, I'll be fixing Cornish hens Peruvian style on the rotisserie, having some other besties over for dindin. Valentine's day is just one day out of 365... make EVERY day count!!

My wife just put a pot roast on the stove. In about 4 hours or so, I'll be in marital bliss. I just bought her some bling - red caliper covers for her car - and she didn't even know she wanted/needed them. That's the kind of guy I am.

BTW: I am a hopeless romantic. I always do something nice for my beautiful bride on Valentines day and her birthday (well pretty much all the time, but these days are significant).
I am making her favorite meal tonight, Roquefort Souffle, Brussels Sprouts, and for desert, Crème Brûlée. I also had flowers sent to her work. She was genuinely surprised that today was Valentines day. She is not the hopeless romantic.
