I was hoping he would have a successful flight and would then be convinced the earth is flat! We need more harmless crackpots to counterbalance the dangerous ones.
A pity. Manned rocketry is an exciting activity and fun to watch if no one gets hurt. It's really mature to make sure his systems are functional and tested.
I wish him luck and good fortune.
Even if it's mostly con game the sense of humor and genre savvy has won me over.
I wonder why he wouldn't opt for a smaller payload, like say, a high def Camera (a freaking Gopro would probably do the job). Less fuel, less rocket, more elevation, less danger, less legal engagement.
Maybe he thinks the reptilians will hack the camera with DARPA mind control.
I think he's been soaking up too many of them chemtrails.
Ok so say he found out the earth was flat. What does anyone gain or loose other then its not round? Does not change how anything is done. Bedides from what I read we have commercial airliners that fly higher then he can go in that death trap.
Kind of reminds me of Evel Kneivel's "attempted" jump of the Snake River Canyon. Lots of hoopla and buildup and he pulls the chute before leaving the ramp. Since then, most real stunts have become nothing more than publicity stunts.
I think he only achieves lucidity when he's about to die. Holy crap! What am I doing? How did I get here? I'm going to di...ooh, a parachute!
Supposedly, the chute coming out on take off just about killed him. Hard to say what the truth is on what happened there.
I used to think the whole "flat earth" thing was supposed to be a joke. I'm still not convinced it's not a joke. Are there really educated people that can't see through the fallacy of arguments like these?

As to Kites higher than he has flown, I've flown a mile higher with a "kite".
We did, however, get a first.
I bet no news report in history had the quote that "My motor home rocket launcher broke down in the driveway" as a factual statement.
I've mounted rockets on bicycles. Even the top Centuri model engines were disappointing in that application, even with ten engines in two five rocket clusters. I used a bike generator to power the Nichrome ignition system.
Bungee cord launched gliders work fine and with a bit of luck finding a thermal soar higher than our Flat Earth sponsored fellow. Again, man carrying gliders.
I never had an urge to fly a Natter, ( look it up ) but would try a Me-163 replica. The difference is the landing. Glide to a skid landing vs. Parachute.
