Just spoke with Jenny this morning, secured #3... so it'll be me, RD, and- ??? Hoping that Vern can grab the 3rd bed... will call that old sad sack in a while.
For the really nominal cost of the room, already split 2 ways, myself and RD will hold that last bed for you until you know Y/N. I do know the taste of shit sandwiches and turd turnovers, surely we can get you off the steady diet of them you've been having lately.
I'm just hoping that the one 4 wheeled vehicle we have, currently very sick, can be remedied by our mechanic for short $$$... and sometime before my busy work season ends, that I can acquire someone's grampa's truck. And still pay bills... and get into a position where I can restructure my finances.
Dog paddling up shizzle creek aint no fun. I'm ready to get out, dry off, and go for a ride.
We're just over 1 week away. I'm coming up Friday morning. If nobody's there, I'll just ride all over the place like a crazy person until I run into somebody.
John- depending on your route, DO stop at Tellico Grains Bakery. For lunch. I used to stop at the Tellico Plains Drive-In, which has been there for years and overlooks the river- their food is very decent, and good. But, for a true gourmand such as yourself, do the bakery. If you miss their hours, do the drive-in.
When I was there for Buelltoberfest, a couple of years ago, I remember it was 32º F when I woke up in my tent. The coldest low in that forecast is 46º F.
Buellish, I'm doing much better. Just got back from Crusty's and felt better today than I have in two weeks. Must have been a strange virus or something. I had no flu like conditions, just weak and really out of it. I had a friend join me for the trip in case I had a relapse but all was good. With my house issues I probably won't make it this year but you never know, it will be a last minute decision. After removing the carpet from the basement floor we found many large cracks in the concrete. It needs to be replaced so now I have to remove all the walls in the basement, and there are several. The only good news is that with the weight of the concrete off of the foundation it will be easier to lift the house and level it.
I got a cabin booked, will be there Thursday. If anyone needs a place to sleep there is a second bed. That includes you John if you suddenly find out you are too old to camp, or Greg if he needs a last second accommodation after escaping the house.
Finally getting around to changing the noisy output shaft bearing so the Uly will be ready to be there even if I am on the bubble. According to the posts on how to change it I have the wrong bearing in hand.
I have a call in to Lance to be sure before I tear it down.
... looks like we may have a Charlie sighting next Saturday! Texted him earlier, he usually makes it for at least a day ride. Burnin' it on that dang Victory... add 1 more to the fast guy column.
I'm going to need to charge up the GoPro, because people don't believe me when I tell them about Charlie dragging the hard parts of that big Victory all over the mountainside.
Well it's a good thing Buellvemberfest isn't this weekend,I'm heading up to Suches where the temp is 32 and the wind is blowing gusts of up to 24 mph!Time for the Gerbings!
... that reminded me why I loved my 1978 Datsun Z cars so much! DANG if I'd love to get another one someday...
RD- I'll be in touch in the next few days to discuss itinerary. Let me know about when you'll expect to arrive here in Knoxville/Maryville. Still have a slight chance of precip here, nothing to worry about as of yet.
