I always carried an ace in my helmet band while in the military. Since then I collect them. You can find stories about the "Death Card" going back to the thirties. Cavalry supposedly put them on dead VC. You can buy them on fleabay.  (Message edited by OurDee on October 24, 2017) | ||

I'm not opposed to a postponement. It's the only run I do and have only made 4 or 5 of the past 12 and probably won't be able to secure a loaner bike for this one if it is raining. Maybe we should change the name to "Headless Wetman Run". I remember one year trying to outrun Hurricane Irene and failing and at least one more totally saturated ride home. | ||

There’s still a lot of variations in the forecast, I’ll probably be watching this right up to the last minute. At one point they said the heavy rain would start in the evening. If that’s the case I’ll probably be there, BUT, if it’s steady downpour all day I think I’ll bow out. I still want a ride. There seems to be enough interested parties here, what say if Sunday really sucks we gather on one of the following weekend days? | ||

I’ll be there at 830. They may not open the gate to the top of Perkins memorial drive, so I’ll be at the gate. If it rains, it rains. If no one shows, it’s more BBQ for me. | ||

Whilst rain is not as fun as sun to ride in I have been known to get wet. My current dilemma is that I am without a steed and my loaners aren't too keen on their bikes being schlepped through the rain for a couple of hundred miles. | ||
