since the redesign of photobucket, and following screwing of everyone with pics hosted there... i havent really posted much for pics because i simply dont want the hassle of trying to resize everything somehow, to get it to be accepted on most forums(like this one) any good leads for something very simple. | ||

Look in your Windows Accessories folder nested in the Start menu. You'll find a tool called "Snipping Tool" Use that to capture anything off your screen and save it in just 2 clicks. Then you can upload it straight into your messages here. Works great, fast and free. | ||

Same boat here.....over a decade worth of links broken over a few forums. Ride reports, how to's, detailed mechanical adventures....all gone. Really disappointed mainly because it was all in the spirit of helping. It would be different if one was aimed at making some sort of income off it. It really sucks Anyway, not trying to hijack. Just also looking for a good solution. Many of my buddies use Smugmug, but it is also a pay service. | ||

It's pretty crazy that Photobucket went from FREE to ~$400/year. If it was something more reasonable, I might spring for it. Their site has gotten really wonky as well; I've had a lot of difficulty uploading pics the last year or so before they changed to a pay service. Smugmug was started by the owner of the ADVrider forum, and the income from it supported the site. He sold the service recently, and as a result ADVrider is going to be ad-supported in the near future. | ||

I use my own domain through bluehost. My own email address (*@airbozo.com), ability to host my own photo gallery (where 99% of my photo's are linked to), and not that expensive (about $40 a year including one domain). Takes some upfront setup and minor management, but worth it to keep control of my own photo's. Plus you can choose what size picture to upload simply by clicking the size. Check the link...  | ||

just signed up and tried out imgur. seems ok so far. good enough for what i want. just random posting on a few forums. thanks! still sucks that the pics from all my previous posts over the years are long gone now. alot of great info disappeared from many forums when they did that. | ||

go to your user name top right corner. select images in the drop down, then click on the picture you want. when that pic enlarges, there should be 6 different links beside it. copy the: BBCode (message boards & forums) link which is the second one up from the bottom | ||

That pic is HUGE.....lol You would type [ img]https://i.imgur.com/zpAg9V5.jpg[/img] but delete the space after the first bracket. I left it there intentionally so you could see the actual text. Basically it is the image location surrounded by those img tags in brackets | ||

ah yes, i forgot to mention that when you first go in your photo album, on the right side of the screen you can select what size you want it to auto resize when you upload a photo (it wont change the ones you already did though so...) i had to reupload a few times until i decided on 1024x768 makes them about this big...  | ||

I email pictures from my phone to myself reducing them to 10% in the email. open and save them on my desk top them load them straight in.  | ||

I went on Flickr, and set it to private. Free and easy, just like me! It lets you pick the size for the link too. If I can figure it out quickly...anyone can. But I still need to transfer everything of photo bucket (so lame) |
