Since Buell and EBR are both out of business, can we get more pics and info of the B2/Barracuda? There's the article in Cycle world (thanks froggy). There's the pic of "erik?" riding a yellow one making a right hand turn. There's the row of black and yellow B2's sitting in a showroom? somewhere. I've heard that there was a model with white plastics, and another model with black plastics, both with graphics that I believe said "1125rr". Can we get some better resolution pics and more specs? I feel like this is a VERY important part of Buell history that has been kept in the dark, but would be greatly appreciated by long-time patrons and fans. Court? Anyone? |

Here's what I'm tracking for common-knowledge photos of the B2:
(two of these posted twice, not sure why). I know there's got to be more information, and more pictures floating around out there. AND I know COURT has a story or two about it.... Can it just be released to the public yet? |

The front of that bike does resemble the new Yamaha touring sled! |

That barracuda is STILL sick! I will take it in yellow...always had a thing for yellow sportbikes. |

I agree. It is. I imagine, that if Erik had been able to release it through the Buell dealer networks, it would have been hugely successful and gained its own following. After a few years, a full lineup of accessories and race parts would have been commonly available. But, I suspect that the parting of ways was a necessary evil for the EBR bikes to become what they were/are. From the interviews and articles I read several years back, it sounds like Erik's mentality was, "you want to shut me down? Fine, I'll make motorcycles BETTER than i COULD have made them under you". I infer that there was a degree of hurt and anger that he was able to channel into something useful. I could be wrong. |

Side note: Erik did not just think about motorcycles. |

Prior to the "Hero/Villain" fiasco I had read here and there that he was developing several VERY cool platforms for uses in several scenarios. No other manufacturer/designer I know of has his imagination. |

What I always found interesting about that article and a particular picture, was the hidden tank logo - WHY? Its the picture from the rear 1/4 - look on the tank and you'll see a yellow box that doesnt quite match up. What did it say? None of the bikes pictures have anything on the tank (the one making a right turn is obscured by rider's arm) |

Does this give any clues? I'd suspect that the last Buell Pegasus logo would've gone where that recessed area is in the airbox cover. I think this is the area that you are describing... The styling pictures that have been on Facebook have shown Buell on the sides of the airbox cover and 1125RR on the side fairings. |

I think I found a lost puzzle piece. So I don't know how I found this, but somewhere down the google rabbit hole I stumbled across this post from "anonymous" just beneath some pics of the first EBR model and some discussion about the radiators... "And when you aren't allowed to have a fairing, and are told the radiators have to be hidden, making it all work is one hell of a task. This is what the first 1125 would have looked like if it weren't for corporate directives and design by committee. " (emphasis mine) I assume this insight, specifically regarding the B2 model, was part of the "tipping point" that put Erik and Elves in the unemployment line. source: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/548641.html?1269099804 |

Can anyone tell me what the "tear ducts" under neath the headlights are for?? They look like cosmetic air inlets... but I somehow doubt Erik would put his stamp of approval on "stick-on" intake vents... |

This part right here...
AND... If the radiator setup on the B2 was similar to the EBR models, why does the front of the lower fairing look so wide compared to the skinny little EBR's? |

I'm thinking it had 1125 era radiators. Not the later 1190 ex$pen$ive pieces. |

They are side mounted...you can see them in the side views of the bike. |

Not the later 1190 ex$pen$ive pieces. 1190RS radiators = ex$pen$ive 1190RX/SX radiators = sanely priced |

I tend to agree. It makes me sad and angry to think about what might have been.... I just read something about HD trying to make their bikes more "sporty" in order to broaden their market appeal. It was nice to see how many pro-Buell, anti-HD comments at the end of the article. Screw HD. |
