That is a terrible video, Bill, and it's real. That is how it looks at the entrance to our subdivision and inside one of our daughter's subdivisions. She got pictures from a friend who stayed. Another daughter who is with us is worried about her home because of reports of flooding in her area. Thankfully for us, we are dry and our homeowners association is reporting that our levee system and pumps are in great shape. Other close-by areas aren't as fortunate and tens of thousands of others in the greater Houston area are experiencing miserable situations. Thanks to all for the good thoughts. Jeff, I never got a text. Maybe you just have my home, land line, number. I hope you are still doing okay. |

I should have added that we have flood insurance even though we are outside the 100 year flood plan. I just heard that over 80% of those effected in the Houston area do not. Why? As Harvey has shown, and Allison before him showed, a storm can get stuck 'anywhere' and drop unbelievable quantities of water over a number of days. I have nothing to do with the insurance industry but just saying. It isn't that costly and if never used, cool, the money can help others in floods. |

Speaking of insurance, had a call app. 6pm today . Indian nationality, couldn't hardly understand him. Selling car insurance. Had to confirm some info first. Asked to be corrected if he was wrong on first name , street address and did I still own a Mazda b25. I said yes and that the conversation had become wearisome to me and was over. He asked what and I then asked him if he knew mr. Click. He got it then. Ex coworker had a middle daughter that was 8 or 9 at the time. Coworker had walked into his living room where daughter was on the phone. Don't know with whom when Hanna suddenly said , have you met Mr click and promptly hung up. Been a good one for years now when folks call who you don't want to talk to. Every one take care! |

How sorry, Bill? Sorry enough to give my Uly back? J/K, J/K LOL Hey, I know your kind words were heartfelt. Lia and I still feel the way we did when you visited and we watched you ride down our driveway on the beautiful Uly. We could not feel better about who got the Uly. Your having, and enjoying it is almost like we still have it. Seriously. That's how good we feel about you. Ride safe and enjoy. PS: Man, it sure feels good not to be sweating this storm! We have roof leaks in three houses to attend to, ours and two daughters, but that is nothing in the grand scheme. Feeling so much better tonight. (Message edited by buellerxt on August 29, 2017) |

Great news Mike, glad your family came out of it in such great shape! The Uly is here and ready any time you want to come take it for a ride around the country. |

Waited on a doctor and his dentist buddy Monday nite, overheard them laughing about looter's prospects in Texas... Here's hoping and praying those affected recover safely and soon. We're about to get some Harvey rain here in E. TN starting tonite, already seeing the radar patterns picking up. |

RE: link above. People are coming to the door, pretending to be Homeland Security, or local firefighters, and ordering people to evacuate, so they can loot the house. There is one case of a man pretending to be a first responder pointed a shotgun at people and ordered them to leave. ICE and Customs have confirmed they won't be doing any operations in the Houston area until much later. So if someone orders you to leave, politely ask for ID. If they BS you, politely retrieve your second best weapon, and politely ask them to either go away peacefully, or Very Peacefully. The Houston Law enforcement promised to be very harsh on criminals. Trash collection is going to be disrupted while the water is high, so be very careful and mindful of disease and contamination when safely disposing of the Very Peaceful. |

"The Houston Law enforcement promised to be very harsh on criminals" Why can't they be like that all the time? Perhaps there would be fewer criminals running around. |
