Working with a CLI, trying to get our broadcast default set to WPA2 instead of WPA. iPhones and Laptops have a way to "see around" this, but a device I'm attempting to use does not. Thanks for the help!!! |

Is this a fat AP, or a WLC? |

If it's a controller...use the GUI. If it's a fat AP, the commands depend on the version of IOS you're on. But in general you need to issue (in config) no authentication key-management wpa and authentication key-management wpa version 2 Do a sh run to find the exact command you need to remove, modify, and reenter. The syntax may differ from above, again, depending on your IOS. There could be more to it, depending on your implementation. Don't forget to wri mem |

Are the AP's that much different that it isn't copy run start? I haven't done a thing with wireless yet and still working on CCNA (after too many years). |

There is no GUI, unfortunately, and I'm not sure what exactly it is. I asked for a model and serial yesterday, no response yet. I'm not fluent in all things IT, especially Cisco. We've ensured AES is on, TKIP off, WPA2 as the type. Also ran a telnet and verified the port we need open is in fact open I'll ask about the authentication key today. THANKS! |
