...I'm spending just about everything I make on new gear, parts, farkles... And just when I thought I was getting under control it looks like we're picking up a Schuberth franchise. Dammit. More money to spend. |

If your head is shaped like mine, DO NOT try on a Schuberth helmet. It will take your entire paycheck quicker than I can type out this warning. I've never worn a more comfortable helmet |

Crusty- how is your head shaped? I'm pretty sure that I've got a "Round Oval" head shape. A Schuberth fits like they used my head as a template to design their helmets. I've never worn a helmet that fit me better. I think they're very overpriced, but they fit me so well that they're worth the price. |

Schuberth makes the helmets sold by BMW in Europe (well... everywhere but the US). BMW got tired of the frivolous lawsuits in the US so stopped carrying them so Schuberth started selling their own designs directly. They pretty much invented the "Modular Helmet" with the original BMW System helmet. I had a System II helmet for years and by the time I needed to replace it, I couldn't. Shoei came out with their Duotech helmet but it wasn't the same. Finally Schuberth started selling the "Concept" helmet in the States and as an MSF RiderCoach I was able to purchase it for 50% off. I got a C2 years later in Daytona when the BMW dealership down there was having a clearance sale. The new Schuberths are over-priced; the Nolan N104 is every bit as good and comfortable for almost half the price. |

I had a a first series and third series BMW helmet. The third series was brought back from Germany by a friend since BMW no longer sold them. After wearing that one out the price of the Schuberth made me head to a Nolan which also fits really well. |

I really dont have that problem. I've worked at the HD & Buell shop for about 12 years, there was a time where i spent some money on stuff, but anymore i really dont. Although I've bought 12 motorcycles from here during that time as well... |

Most BMW dealerships carry the Schuberth line here in the States. Nothing new about that. People who buy German motorcycles feel they should wear a German helmet. What isn't new is that you can't buy the BMW-branded Schuberth helmets in the States any more. When the System III came out, there were more than a few people buying them in Canada and bringing them into the States. To the point where I think BMWNA stopped bringing them into Canada too. Now if you want a BMW helmet you have to bring them in through Europe. One of the guys in my club travels a lot for his business and his favorite helmet is the BMW Airflow Helmet (made by Schuberth). He picks a new one up in Germany every five years. |

I was calling them "series" but Jaimec is correct. I had a System I BMW helmet and later a System III. The System III was not DOT approved because BMW didn't want to pay the huge price for testing in the U.S. A year or so later Schuberth decided to bring them over themselves. Great helmets! |

I worked in a BMW shop one summer. It was great to hang out and talk motorcycles all day BUT I didn't have time to RIDE. The only riding I got in was taking customer bikes out for test rides when the mechanic was done with them. |
