The tag was out of date/out of state?
Was the the only weird thing?

Did you ask the cops to run the plates yet?

What looked suspicious about it?

So it belonged to someone that didnt work at the businesses within ONE BLOCK...OH NO!

So the tags are out of date and not the same state...Ive been pulled every year for the same thing, its easy to lose track of.

Call the police and have them handle it. If it is stolen do you want to explain why it's in the back of your truck?

Im genuinely curious what makes this a possible stolen bike?

Nothing he said is that odd to me, or should it be to most.

I've had 2 bikes stolen from me. First one was gone for over a month and recovered destroyed. Second one was recovered within hours abandoned. I am still grateful that someone noticed it was out of place and reported it. I'm sure it would have turned into parts if they hadn't.
It is odd to me. Bike sitting along highway for a day is out of place. Thank you CV. I take my bike with me or I stay with it.

Out of state expired plates is not suspicious to you? Oh that's right...you routinely forget to renew your registration on your out of state vehicles. To the rest of the world in general, and police officers specifically, those two things are a big red flag.

Yeah. Big red flag. Especially given the outright disdain with which California drivers are viewed by law enforcement in EVERY other state.

Driving with expired Cali tags is a big no-no for anybody with half a brain.

Bike. Is. Suspicious.

Is it still there?

Bike was gone the next am. I got busy at work and didn't call police yet but took pics of the bike and license. I called the business it was sitting in front of to find out if it was still there, I'll call Portland police today and see if they will tell me if it was impounded . Can someone check in CA might not show here if the police report is too old.
