Ok Badwebbers.... here is my problem. I have been riding a Nightrod special for the past 5 years... and I miss my Buells. wife said I can get another after I sell the Nightrod. ok fair enough.. been trying to sell the beast for months.. nothing. Blue book is over $9500 and I ahve it listed at $8950... should I go lower? is the market crap right now? I WANT MY BUELLS!! lol I have it listed on the facebook marketplace, craigslist, cycle trader, etc... this sucks |

Nightrods (v-rods in general) are tough to sell. Half of book is usually about right in my experience. First, they're a used Harley, of which there are tons. Second, they're the bastard son of Harley. Harley riders hate em because they aren't the old "potato-potato" loud exhaust bikes they love. Metric riders won't be caught dead on em because they say "Harley" on the airbox. |

Hate to say it, but Joe's on the money (pardon the pun). My dealership had a hard time moving the new ones even, none sold at MSRP... KBB and NADA won't even be in the ballpark for values. Gonna have to bite the bullet on that one. Good luck... I miss my Buell too. Saw a guy on a CityX the other day, and a good buddy of mine let me putz around on his cherry bomb XBSS at bike nite a couple of weeks ago... waahh. You might go talk/commiserate with a trusted soul at your favorite dealership (hoping you have one) about stragety... they can at least tell you real numbers at auction and their used sales history per unit. Maybe. |

You need to find someone that will convert it to a touring machine, otherwise no one wants them. Several near me for less than $7000 and haven't moved in months. You'd get a better price trading towards a new Harley than selling outright at this moment. I'd suggest start by knocking it down to $8000 even and see what happens. |

Maybe you could find a Harley dealer with a decent Buell for sale that would take your Nightrod on trade? |

Actually THAT'S a good idea, Hugh! Some dealers still have no idea that nuts like us love Buells, and would rather have an H-D product on the showroom than the red-headed stepchild! Sometimes you get lucky. I had a whole $1600 invested in my old 1979 GL1100, put it up on CL for sale. Dude wanted my bike, said "would you be interested in a trade?" I said "I dunno, what do you have?" He traded me EVEN for my current love, a 1977 R75/7. We had/have the same mechanic, I called and asked him WTF with this guy? Does he KNOW what he's asking?! Mechanic replies "Yeah, he's for real- the BMW puts his nuts to sleep." I said OK, we'll trade. Yay me! |

Yeah, he's for real- the BMW puts his nuts to sleep. I can understand that. My old R 60/5 would put my hand to sleep if I ran on the highway for any length of time. |

R60/5? Dang! Well, I guess that's better than your nuts. At least you can let go of the handlebar and shake it off. |
