I knew someone was going to ask that question. I'd say they're roughly a quarter pound, maybe a little more so we're looking at a pound and a half of beef (not to mention the cheese, buns, toppings AND the large order of fries). Frankly, I can't see how so many people managed to wolf down that much food in just a half an hour. Must've been part python! |

Here is a photo of their "Everything Burger" taken a couple of years ago: And here is the Western Sunrise Burger I had for "brunch" yesterday (it has a fried egg and bacon on it along with an onion slice and jalapenos):

I don't think I'd be able to do it. I could possibly do two or three of their burgers + fries, but no way six. Their burgers are delicious though, I try and stop by whenever I'm in the area. I've had the Triple Triple burger from Wayback Burgers, and that 9 patty monster put me out of commission for a few hours. |

Nope, wouldnt try. I remember Fuddruckers had the 1lb burger - I tried it - it was just too much. Too much meat, too much bread etc |

Not with the bread. I'm getting too old to try. A meal there looks worth doing though. |

Jaime: If you are ever near the undisclosed location I can hook you up with a memorable burger and fries. It doesn't have have of Indiana slathered across it but it's a superior burger. We've an interesting couple, exiled from Brooklyn, when the Bloomberg administration . . . under the guise of watching out for New Yorkers' Health . . . made their cookies "illegal". They make their own homemade ice cream sandwiches as well. But . . . I confess . . . just looking at that thing beckons me back to those days of wretched excess . . . the days of chugging a fifth of Jack Daniels . . . just to "do it". |

I do the "Pounder" regularly at Cheeburger Cheeburger, but that's just the one burger and no need to have fries AND there is no time limit. |

Hey Court, when are you going to set up a meet for us at the Undisclosed Location?? None of us know where it is so we'd have to meet you and wear our blindfolds... |

We REALLY need to do that here in the next month . . . poor Crusty is getting ready to desert (can we use the term desert without the word ice cream?) us and . . . perhaps worse yet . . he's showing early signs of addiction to chain BBQ joints. I'd consider the chance to gather a few wretched souls as, perhaps, having a higher, more altruistic, calling . . . the collective health of an aging group of riders. Problem is . . . if I don't get these racks and racks of Buell stuff sorted . . . you'd get put to work. Funny story . . you'd enjoy. I am looking at "10 Best Motorcycle Roads in NY" the other day and one of them doesn't ring a bell. I looked up up on a map and I'll be damned if it wasn't the road . . . literally at a"T" intersection that runs into the driveway. I confess that for the last 20 years of living in NYC, and having to do 90 minutes of battle . . just to escape the city . . . got old. |

In "my day", some decades ago, I would take that challenge. I 'd suck down about six beers on the way there, do the challenge, then with a few more beers stop for pizza on the way home. Some people wonder how after such a great drinking career that covered many many years, that I could just quit without going to meetings. Well, I just wasn't hungry anymore! |

We were just reminiscing about the days when the local Ground Round had "All You Can Eat" chicken wings on Monday nights. First order had 20 wings, and reorders were 10 pieces. We would knock down two reorders, for a total of 40 wings at a seating! Nowadays I go to Hooters and after ten wings, I'm DONE. What the hell happened?? |

The breading. I like Hooter's food, all EXCEPT their wings! They buy the smallest they can find, then coat them in breading... SACRILEGE. Blech. Once we get through all the leftovers from Saturday, I feel we're gonna have a wing nite soon. Even got some turkey wings, been wanting to run the smoker... |

I always order their wings "naked" (without the breading). Didn't you know you could do that? |

Yeah, I knew that. At this point in my life, I generally prefer my own wings, done at home with a T-Fal ActiFry air fryer. Dang thing produces 2.5# of KILLER wings in about 30ish minutes... We've got a bar close by that does great wings too- I know the cook, and when my scorpion pepper plant throws fruit, I make sure he gets plenty! OK, check this out- I may have to order the book just because of the title, but the smoked wing recipe sounds pretty dang good too! http://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2017/05/26/529 563192/praise-the-lard-a-barbecue-legend-shows-us- how-to-master-smoked-chicken-wings

That's actually a new option at Hooters: Smoked Wings which have less than half the calories of the deep-fried variety. I like them with the Jamaican Jerk topping but I'm more of a traditionalist and prefer my wings deep-fried, served "naked" and tossed in their "Three Mile Island" sauce. They actually do have a hotter sauce, but it has (to me, at least) a bitter aftertaste. The Three Mile Island sauce is very similar to the sauce used by Duff's up in Buffalo, NY. Most Buffalo natives acknowledge that the Anchor Bar may've invented them, but Duff's PERFECTED them. Last year the BMW MOA National Rally was in the Buffalo area so I had the chance to try both. |
