Toymaker's Cafe Ted's Cheeseburgers Dinosaur BBQ I'd add "Court's Place" but I can't seem to find a web page for it. Let's start talking! |

I can solve your problems . . . . if . . . you are willing to ride to a secret undisclosed location. I hate to see ya'll eating at a chain place like the Dinosaur. I'm a block from one now . . .smells good and the food is darn sure good enough . . . but never drive past a hidden gem to get to a chain store. Ditto cheeseburgers. Some folks keep a medic-alert card in their wallet . .. I keep a list of the 12 best cheeseburger places . . . .you know, places like Piper's Kilt . . . Squires . . . . Maud's. |

I liked Piper's Kilt, but I wouldn't say it should be on the best list. Possibly top 12 for Westchester though. |

I hate to see ya'll eating at a chain place like the Dinosaur. DRATS! I was so looking forward to enjoying a meal at a Dinosaur location I will be near Monday night. Sorry to hear that I won't enjoy it like I was hoping. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to make do... BTW...The 3 B's as seen on a Harley shirt: I spent most of my money on beer, bikes and broads. The rest I just wasted. Carry on, 1313 |

>>>> I was so looking forward to enjoying a meal at a Dinosaur location Trust me . . the Dinosaur will never disappoint. I like having friends, like Brankin, who's standards are as high was mine. Brankin and I have never sent food back to the kitchen. Running with a refined, sophisticated, and socially present group of friends who, like myself, are often mistaken for male models . . . has served me well in terms of finding great food. Why . . .here are some shining examples . . of EXPERT BBQ Installation Personnel . . . . Brankin . . . I think I have transpiration to get you up here to feed you . . . .if you and I both waste away . . . . ohmygosh! :-) |

Foggy, When were you in Harrisonburg? That and the spot next door are great places, however if you are serious about burgers head west on RT. 250 out of Staunton then take RT. 220 south out of Monterey in Highland county and look for Jason's in an old gas station on the left just a few miles before you get to Warm Springs in Bath county. Great roads and awesome food! |

Chains...... Was on a family reunion trip with Sister, bro in law, and their hunting poodle, Eugen Von Blauhund, N.Y. to Nebraska. My one request was that at least once each day we eat in not-a-chain restaurant. No mcmeal evertime run. Just a diner or anything not Mega chain. We pulled over in Des Moines and spotted a place, Famous Dave's. After a fine lunch we were congratulating ourselves on such a nice find, then to our horror read the menu with multi-state locations. The irony. Still, Famous Dave's is edible safe food on the road, and garbage can lids full of brisket and pulled pork on a wood stand in the middle of the table overlapping your plates is a pleasant experience. The Dinosaur, is a local done good that is a small chain now. If they can avoid losing the magic attitude as they grow I will be most pleased. I've been to the original in Syracuse & Rochester branch. Still..... you never forget the lucky finds. Atlanta at 3:30 a.m. getting off at a random exit and finding a great chicken joint in a ............ neighborhood. The locals were most interested in what brought us to this fine establishment. Astonishment that we were from N.Y., usual explanation that we weren't from The City, just normal sized towns like theirs. Good time had by all. Great jalapeno poppers. I don't know if I'd want to trust that guy in the grey shirt; especially in front of all that good food. So; to get back to the original question; When & Where? After the past week, I need some good BBQ. Or a good burger. Or Good Pizza. Or any meal with Good Company. |

Bump. If you pick a date, I hope it will be sometime AFTER the weekend of March 18/19 as I'll be down in Daytona Beach from the 11th. Unless some of you Southern Buellers want to set something up while I'm down there... |

Famous Dave's I first discovered them somewhere in Illinois... I was on a 1000 mile expedited job, and got a hankering for some charred meat. It appeared in front of me, and I pulled in. They had room for my truck, and I went inside with the intention of having a quick sandwich. Instead I got a full rack, some burnt ends, beans, potato salad... and 2 beers. The delivery was about 10 hours late due to the extended nap I took immediately when I got back in my truck. |

My report from the (Brooklyn) Dinosaur tonight: Chicken = scrumptious! Pulled pork = phenomenal! Brisket = to die for!!! No danger in me wasting away! In fact, I might just snack on some of the leftovers... If I lived anywhere near a Dinosaur location, I'd be fat(ter)... 1313 |

OK, to get back on topic. When & Where do we want to Meet 2 Eat? I'm running out of time. It's looking like Cincy is going to be a reality in the not too distant future, so I want to chow down with you all at least one more time before I move. You know; I just realized that I've never eaten BBQ in Cincinnati. Oh Boy! Now I get to find good BBQ there! Then you guys will have to come by to check it out! Not BBQ, but I'm a BIG fan of Skyline Chili. When are you moving? It's been awhile since I've ridden "The Beast" at Kings Island... |

Dickeys is in the Cincy area now, including one 5 minutes from Kings Island (and me). Not the absolute best BBQ, but never less than "really good" in my experience. And always there when you want it. The REALLY good BBQ is people that do it on their own and set up tents on the weekends at events. A friend of mine here in Lebanon does it when he isn't repairing helicopters, and sells it by the pound, when you get to Cincy I can hook you up. (Lebanon is just north of Kings Island, you can see parts of it from some of the rides, and we hear the closing fireworks at night, a great summer memory trigger on the porch smoking a cigar on a warm lazy Friday night. Some nice riding all along the little miami that runs right though here. Just keep crossing back and forth over it going up and down the valley. A really beautiful and hilly area. And just a bit south to the Bourbon trail, which is beautiful riding and great seasoning for the after ride campfire. And plenty of tools including Oxy Act and MIG if you need anything Crusty. |

I can't the next two weekends... I'll be available again from the 25th. I've been to the Brooklyn Dinosaur. It's positively HUGE inside, but (just like the Manhattan location) parking spots are hard to find. The night we were there we were lucky to find big enough gaps between cars to wedge our bikes. From what I've seen, the locations with the best available parking are Troy, NY and Stamford, CT. I was in Buffalo, but never made it to the Buffalo location so I don't know anything about it. Newark was as bad as the NYC locations. |

The 25th would be best for me as well or every other weekend after that, I work every other Saturday. |
