Turned out not to be such a bad day down here after all... but I don't know what it was like up there. Anyway, I got to do some items I'd been meaning to take care of for quite some time, so the day wasn't a total loss.
Unfortunately, the one thing I DID want to accomplish was a bust. The jumper plugs my friend whipped up for me for my K1200LT were too big, so I just slathered dielectric grease all over my "MacGuyver Plugs" and reinstalled them. Have to find a Radio Shack (remember when they were all over the place??) and see if I can find some smaller molex plugs and wire and make a set myself.
Next Saturday I'm heading down to New Jersey for the Aerostich Pop-Up event. How's next Sunday looking? |

I'll be in Georgia at Glitch Badness next weekend; but I should be back the following weekend. I'll be heading up to Cincinnati for a couple of days, but I figure I'll be back by Thursday or Friday.
The weather here pretty much sucked all day long. Intermittent cold rain showers and a high temp of 38º. I got pretty wet just out running errands, and I was thinking that it was a good thing I didn't go.
How does two weeks from this weekend sound? Either Saturday or Sunday; and I probably wouldn't complain if we wound up at either a BBQ joint or Toymakers, or even a Five Guys. It's the meeting and talking that I go for; the great food is secondary. |

The weather has been awful. About 38F and continuous showers throughout.
I believe in a couple weekends I should be available. |

I got home not long ago, good to see you guys again. Toymakers is worth the trip for sure.
ADK rally in the middle of May, hope you all make it to that. |

I took the long way home; riding back roads up into western Massachusetts, then the Mohawk Highway east. Toymaker's is a Great destination. The food was excellent, and the ambiance is definitely motorcycle friendly. Good people, good food and good conversation; it just doesn't get any better that that. Jaime, Frank and George are as real as they come, and they're all first class in my book.
We'll have to do it again when the weather warms up a bit. Maybe next time, we'll be able to get a few more folks to join us.
In the meantime, I think our next meet&eat should be to Court's mystery destination. All we have to do is remind him to tell us where it is...

Definitely a great destination to ride to. What a nice sunny day, if only it was a little warmer. I'm glad I put the vest on before we left, set the controller to "toast" and kept it there most of the way home. Funny how a lot of the conversation centered around food, maybe had something to do with Jaime's shirt. Good to see everyone there.
Only downside was when I got close to home, the exhaust sounded kind of funny. When I get to check it out it seems that most of the exhaust has self destructed. The shield from the comfort kit broke off, the nuts came off of the rear header and the front strap is loose. Luckily it looks like both studs are still in the rear head from what I can see. Got to rotate the engine before the ADK, hope I can make it in time. |

Court, that was their "Eggs Benedict Waffle." I think it was a "Special Item" that morning. I don't know HOW I missed that. I just had Eggs and Bangers. |

Side note: Heading up Route 22, as I passed the Red Rooster in Brewster I saw red XB12XT in their parking lot and a rider in a gray Aerostich suit puttering about. I wasn't sure it was Froggy but I WAS sure it was someone on the way up to Toymaker's.
I honked and waved as I rode past, but Froggy said he never heard or saw me. As he got back on the road, though, he did catch up to me and immediately recognized the back of my LT (not many running around with the flags of the Philippines and Scotland after all). We rode up the rest of the way together.
The Red Rooster is a good destination for a summer gathering, by the way. Decent roadside food but they only have outdoor seating (or take-out). The Ramapo Motorcycle Club often uses it as a stopping-off point on their rides. |
