OK... about to head home on the final leg of my trip. I've been remiss in the posting of pictures, but I'll do all that when I get home. Here's the tracking link: https://glympse.com/0CY5-VR0T |

In a little over 2 hours you'll be back in Illinois. When you get to the O'fallon Illinois exit look left and wave, I'm 10 miles North of you! Have a great rest of your trip Matt! |

I was waving both hands above my head, people near me changed lanes to get away.

OK, well I've lagged on doing this for long enough, so here's a few pictures and such... with comments in between. I left out while it was still dark, and it had been raining in Georgia so I had the top up until I saw clear skies in Tennessee. The rest of the trip was almost 100% fair weather.
Stopped for fuel in Calvert Cit, Kentucky
Open road, not a care anywhere in the world. It's starting to sink in, I can't hear any phones ringing, no lunch breaks, no late deliveries...
Approaching St Louis MO, you can see the arch ahead. Cool suspension bridge coming up.
Here's something we don't have in Georgia... too bad I'm not hungry. I'll stop on my way home.
Getting into Kansas now...
Here in Valley Falls at Brent's house, where I learned that it used to be called Grasshopper Falls until the Great Grasshopper Plague back in the old days.
My bunk mate awoke with me and was quite the frisky kitty.
Triking it across Kansas with a trailer...
First sight of the Rocky Mountains
Finally made it to Pinner Dave's.
I had to get at least one picture of me and Pinner Dave together. Reason being, my wife and daughters have never met him. They have, however heard many tall tales of our exploits to the point that he has passed into legend. Much like the fabled Sasquatch, sightings of Pinner Dave are few and far between.
Following are various shots around the town of Silverton, Colorado.
Lots of people have variants of Shepherd species dogs... I am of course partial to the Aussies.
OK, the riders are starting to come across the finish line. This guy on a unicycle. At first, I thought the most remarkable thing about him was the unicycle.
At second glance, is this guy actually Hulk Hogan???
A man and his daughter riding a tandem Unicorn! This got a pretty wild response from the spectators.
Pinner Dave about to cross the finish line. 50 miles in a very thin atmosphere...
Meanwhile, back at the Pinner Ranch, this mean bastard stands watch over the flock. A foul tempered Alpaca named Ralph.
Here's a lucky charm on the trip home, my lucky number right here on a sign.
Crossing the Great Divide, headed home.

Great pics, great all around. I used to ride my old Cannondale criterion road bike pretty seriously... Doing 50 miles in THAT atmosphere would kill me. Your buddy Dave looks to be 110% muscle. Dude on the unicycle kinda freaks me out. |

Thanks for the pics. I've been to Silverton several times and always enjoyed it. I even rode the Uly out the back side over Engineer Pass to Lake City. Colorado just doesn't suck! Glad you got to go and enjoy it too! |

My sinuses are still recovering from the DRYNESS of the climate... My whole throat and sinus tissues were raw like hamburger while I was up there. |

Yeesh! I'm sitting here rubbing my eyes from Tennessee allergies, woke to plugged sinuses... at least it's raining today, hopefully it'll clear the air. Epic road trip, my friend. Color me jealous! We're heading to Las Vegas in October for my GF's daughter's wedding- wish we'd have the time and $$$ to do a road trip like that! Now I gotta grab a couple of cheep plane tix sometime soon... anyone have preferences for where to find them? Kayak just locks up on me for some reason, so far I don't like the prices from Travelocity... |

Sure did... I had to get a couple of those greasy tacos along with a big cheeseburger and a strawberry shake. |

Nice! Glad you had a good trip. It looks like the weather was cooperative, and Colorado hasn't lost any of its beauty. I still think that God made Colorado so that Motorcyclists would know what Heaven is going to be like. |

If only they could just add a little bit of humidity to the air up there... My sinuses are still in uproarious protest. |
