Tom- NEVER did I say, or imply, that you are racist. I said that your post was in bad taste, simple as that. I've said things in bad taste, and have been corrected.
Brad, I realize you didn't say I was racist or bigoted. But when you say something is offensive, and the reason for that has to do with race, well... So I've asked a number of times now, and I'm not the only one who has asked, what does the fact that your SO is Dominican have to do with anything, if not to point out that you feel that post was racist. There has been no response to that question. I've been very clear in how your comments were taken. You've been very clear that you are not going to clarify them further. Seems to me that we have an understanding.
Good morning, good coffee. Tom, you're right- this back and forth started with my knee-jerk a while back, and my logic doesn't hold. My bad- sorry to get your back up.
However- I do sincerely hope there's some way to get back to civil discourse, and somehow put all the hateful rhetoric behind us. Everyone in some measure is guilty of it, sad to say it seems part of human nature. If one researches politics, even as far back as the beginning of our Republic, obviously we've been at it all along. Personally, it's repugnant. For some, it's sport. I try and follow my mom's advice. If you have nothing good to say of someone, say nothing.
A cliché, but I'll use it: What would Jesus do?
I enter this day with humility, peace, agape, and wish all my friends the same. Tom- I've a great day ahead down here, sure hope you and Mary have the same.
That's a good question. And a good way to think about choices. Certainly you have to update a few things.....but having The Power Of Rome ( Obama ) not mention at all that maybe you shouldn't beat Christians just because they believe differently implies that one side is running on the principle...What Would Stalin Do? (Substitute Satan for Stalin if you prefer )
