If so, they will have food products to either utilize or lose. Profit/loss at the end of season.
We Badwebbers do love our grub. We can spend our money anywhere, and TWoS is our "party central". I'd be happy to nosh there any time I get hungry- I've had times that I got back from Jim's BBQ or some other place and read their menu board, and gotten mad/sad that I didn't eat there.
My metabolic needs are different than youn's.
In a nutshell: Jim's BBQ is well established for their cuisine, and probably don't need the money. The folks at TWoS have a different market and biz model, so if we can eat there, it'll certainly help maintain a MC rider's chunk of Paradise.
Two Wheels does close for the season,I think at the end of November or possibly early December.
Their weekend revenue is up and down depending largely on the weather and if they have an event booked.
"If so, they will have food products to either utilize or lose. Profit/loss at the end of season." You might talk to Bill the owner about those questions when you see him in two weeks.
I'll try to, Mike. I know it's not easy by a stretch to make money with an operation like that, despite its "fame" as a MC destination. I'll be bringing a few essential things to eat, hopefully staying in the lodge to have access to the kitchenette. It's always nice to have those folks fix you a nice plate of food though.
Anyone want me to bring anything from up north? I'm not sure if there is anything from NY that is hard to get down south, like decent pizza or something you guys might want.
Ummm... I collect shot glasses with state names on them. I have NY, but I don't have PA. If you're passing through PA and just happen to stop at a truck stop somewhere, they usually always have them for a few dollars.

Hi All.
Slightly off topic but figured I'd mention it here. I sold my bike last year and am just now getting around to cleaning out some old parts and apparel. If any of you are interested in anything, I'll happily hold it for you until you're here next weekend. I can bring them up to you in Suches, or we can meet somewhere in between. Just post a reply here or send me a PM to let me know. Thanks.
Weird. I just scanned their lodge room and cabin availability, the site said they're fully booked for the weekend! Something's up with the website, I'm guessing...
Shout out to all my buds that are coming, John too- who wants to split a room? I'll buy you a pair of good earplugs- you'll need them to sleep in the same room as me, I snore like a skunk-ape. Shoot me a PM and we'll get this hashed out- unless, they are TRULY booked up. In that case I guess I'll be hauling down my tent and camping equipment... but I'd certainly rather grab lodge room #1, which has a pair of nice beds.
Yeah, yeah. My work schedule was confirmed earlier this week, and I'm clear for next weekend... been sitting on my $$$ until just a day ago when I managed to have my HVAC fixed instead of completely replaced. Still, you're right- I should already have grabbed a room. Doing it on the cheep, I really would like to split costs, but nobody has chimed in to go halvsies with me yet.
I've got a message in with Mary- will advise once I speak with her.
I'm going to be coming down with a friend who is planning on buying an EBR in the spring. TWO is booked and high valley resort has not got back to me in several day even with multiple messages and emails. I know that I waited too long but I had to wait until Wednesday to be sure that I could get off of work. I also tried deals gap resort and they are also booked. So looks like we will be staying in a hotel in Delonaga and riding in to meetup with you guys. I know tent sites are available but I don't tent well. Especially at 40 degrees
Wow! The whole place is booked up. In November! That's Amazing. I thought it would be a quiet weekend with the Buell/EBR freaks and maybe a couple of locals during the day, and possibly a fair sized group to watch the Moto GP race. Instead, it looks like they're going to be slammed!
Forecast is looking like Sunny with temps in the 60s.
Well, frickfrack. Just spoke with Mary, she said that there were a good number of available options before they had the "Fiddy" weekend, and then her phone AND the website reso's blew up and locked up. So, my longshot is (a) she's got a hold, not a confirmation on lodge room #3 (IIRC) that she'll know about by Thursday, or (b) someone might cancel, or (c) she'll look out for anyone wanting to split a room/cabin. DANGIT.
Oh well. I've got all I need to set up a site, and I've gone a long time not using my tent and gear. The Beemer can easily pack it all for the road... hoping not to have to wait til Thursday to know how/what to pack!
OK, another option just occurred to me: Copperhead Lodge! In Blairsville- it was a few years back that we had a big Buell crowd, and several folks stayed there... food's good at the main lodge, plus the bar is well-stocked. Just opened a window on their site, an "elite" cabin is open that weekend... RPM, shootin' ya a PM!
Oh yeah... if anyone here can tolerate a "Sasquatch in a Sack", let me know. I could get by with a pillow and my sleeping bag... heck, I could probably sleep on that sofa in the big room upstairs at the TWoS lodge too.
Given the lows will be 40ish, tent camping is my LAST option. Brrr!
Got an "elite" cabin held at Copperhead, sleeps up to 4, WITH garage, hot tub, and all the fixin's!! $380 total: Divided by 3, then 2, nets $65 per night! Hey RPM!
They allow a 3 day cancellation window- so by Tuesday, I'll know how this is gonna shape up. My first choice will always be staying at TWoS, but my old aching bones would SO benefit from a hot tub soak!
Waiting to hear from M. Hagen and co., once they confirm, might still have a +1, who knows.
Don't forget another great route running south from my neck of the woods:
From Knoxvegas/Maryville, TN129S to TN411S into Vonore TN. Then, either TN411 to TN68, or the better road to Tellico Plains, TN360. From Tellico Plains, just run 68 to Copperhill and the GA border; crossing into GA the same road is GA60. Roll south on this road, arrive in Suches with permagrin.
This route allows you to stop for lunch in Tellico Plains, at Tellico Grains bakery! They now serve wood-fired pizza on all 5 days a week they're open, lunch only, or several kick-ai&& sammiches. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. For a terminal foodie like me, also some great spices from Alchemy Spices out of Chattanooga. Got about six in my cupboard now.
