There is not huge money in vaccines. Its a small percentage. They used to lose money. Heaven forbid if a business makes money. http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/0 2/vaccines-are-profitable-so-what/385214/ |

That article did nothing to dispute any of my points. And a 10-40% margin in the corporate world is a very good margjn. I should know, I've been in corporate finance my whole career. And it is by definition a Cash Cow since people are basically forced to buy vaccines. |

I'll wade in here a little since I kind of stirred this up, and I am pretty ambivalent on the whole thing. At the moment, I think that the risks of vaccines are being deliberately under-represented. But I simultaneously believe that they are absolutely necessary and important, and that most of the allegations about what vaccines do are likely wrong. Profits and cash cows don't prove or disprove anything, that's just a class warefare distraction from seeking more objective facts. Right now what I believe is shaped by a medium layman understanding of the science, combined with intuition, combined with some observable facts that don't directly prove or disprove anything. So I'd welcome getting wiser from the smart and thoughtful people on badweb. And I also think its OK to have some discussions about meme's on the meme topic. But this one probably is at the point where we should start a separate thread if anyone has the energy for diving into this particular rabbit hole. I don't care enough to start one, but I would read one if somebody else did. |

" And a 10-40% margin in the corporate world is a very good margjn." When it comes to the pharmaceutical and medical device world this is not considered high. Having dealt with those industries for the last 12 or so years I can tell you that the money spent behind the scenes for documentation, quality control, audits and other legal issues, they don't make as much profit as people think. There is also the R&D costs, which don't get factored into the profit margin either. Not that they don't make a lot of money, but those numbers are misleading. |

Every time my life is saved by taking a pill, I thank God for those money grubbing folks at Big Pharma who callously develop new treatments for what ails us. Sarcasm off. |

An assault rifle is a very specific thing. Those are already effectively banned, due to the expensive permitting system. I doubt one has been used to commit a crime in decades. By a civilian, anyway. |

Actually a lot of the gang violence in LAin the 1990's was with Chicom imported Type 56 Assault Rifles( AK-47's licence built by Norinco ) sent over by the ship load by the Peoples Republic Of China Army as thanks for giving them the tech they needed to actually hit the U.S. with their ICBM's. That might be the cynical version... but it's way more accurate than anything you ever hear from a Clinton. Legally owned by a Citizen machine guns, including Assault rifles used in crime? Zero. I haven't found one case. There HAS to be at least one, but I don't know of it. In any event the thread for the Govt. lying to you about taking your rights and property is a different one. This one is for amusement.?
