Went out on my Firebolt this weekend after not being on it for some time, came to a stop, put my foot down, and my heel touched the ground! That was a neat. And makes no sense at all to any of you until I admit that firstly, I am a little bit short (most should know from my X1 lowering thread), and for some time I've been carrying around about 10 to 15 pounds of weight that I don't want. I've been dieting because personally, while I can't avoid getting old, I don't want to be fat and old! Weight kinda plagues my mom's side of the family. I've never been "fat", but I was overweight and unhappy with myself for it... Have run past the 10 to 15 pounds (22 presently) and am now 1 pound inside of my recommended 135-145 weight range for my stature, shooting for another 5 to 10. I'd long resigned to the notion of only tripoding this bike, and I'll never flat foot it on both sides, but I've lost enough fat off my bum & legs to go from ball of my foot to a nice heel plant. I did not see this coming and I'm kinda jazzed. But please don't take this as bragging, cuz' it is only 25 to 30 pounds. It's just, on me, a goodly amount. Another thing I noticed, that before I started, I was feeling a little weak and tired and that was killing my desire to get out on the 'bolt. Despite my calorie restricted diet, I am no longer feeling worn out all the time. So, yay, lost 22 pounds, feel better, and [net] lowered my bike about a quarter to half inch. |

Glad to hear you're seeing the results you want to see. It's pretty simple, counting calories (in and out) is a tried and true method that no one is interested in nowadays because they want to eat doughnuts, drink triple-fat starbucks frappemochayatto (for 36 dollars plus tip) sit on facebook all day, and still just magically lose weight. This may sound stupid, but a daily Centrum (or similar vitamin) will help you out a lot especially if you're nutrient-lean. Also, not sure what you've got going, but a good old fashioned run/jog 3-4 times a week, around 20-30 minutes per, will not only help you loose weight and inches, but also increase your energy level. It's like magic, but for real. Running/jogging is good for your body on more levels that even I probably realize. heart, lungs, weight, endorphines/depression, cholesterol, joints, energy - those are the things I've witnessed first-hand. If running is boring, do intervals. Run for 30-45 seconds then slow-jog for a minute or two. Do that 10 or 15 times and you've had a great workout. |

Went out on my Firebolt this weekend after not being on it for some time, came to a stop, put my foot down, and my heel touched the ground! I did that a few months ago on my Uly. Then I realized my back tire was flat. Z Oh yeah - good on ya for shedding the lbs! |
