Yeesh! Dennis, when Vern and I made HC 2010 I did it on the CityX, and we went the LONG way up, through MI and over the Mackinaw Island bridge... everyone but me was riding a Ulysses. By the time I got there I was beat to death! Seems the expansion joints start multiplying the further north you go. I rode exactly 2000.8 miles out and back to my front door on that epic trip. Might try it someday on my R75/7, NEVER again on something configured like the XB9SX. Owie. You guys have a great time, take LOTS of pictures, do LOTS of shenanigans! |

Dave, OurDee told me he was going to go and stay at Country View Campgrounds. Last I knew he was in route to O'hare Airport in Chicago. Looks like a little rain may make it to East Troy or just skirt it to the West.
Nothing horrible. Tim, You could ride over to 214 Jefferson Street in Mukwonago and look at the old quonset hut the bikes were built in at one time. |

Frank, That is too funny. I have some commitments or I'd head up a day early. Brankin got there early. You could always see what Gus's has hanging around. (Message edited by ourdee on May 31, 2016) |

I'm leaving Springfield in the morning. I expect to be at the Country View by mid afternoon. Once I get the tent set up, I'll head over to Gus's . See you all in about 24 hours or so. |

This was posted by Dan Hurda to Facebook about 6:15 PM EDT tonight:
quote:I may very well come to regret this, but lets give it a try anyway.... If you are coming in for the home coming and would like to pick up a parts order while you are here get your completed order form in to parts@ebr.com by 5pm central day light time tomorrow [Wednesday, 1 June 2016] (~24 hours from now), indicate on the form it is for pick up at the homecoming and we will try our best to have your order ready for pick up while you are in town. We have limited resources and personnel so I'm not making any guarantees, but we'll give it a shot. When you place your order let us know how long you'll be in town so we have a window to work within. See everyone Thursday, Dan

Route planning now to arrive by at Country View Campground early evening. The bike is packed, (maybe to overstuffed), but I'm sure i'll forget something. This is my first bike touring trip that doesn't involve a hotel, so I'm anxious to compare my setup with the more experienced travelers. (Especially Crusty's, his postings here would make an awesome book.) |

Another piece of info from Dan Hurda:
quote:...and ‘cause I’m a glutton for punishment... Ride in on your 1190 RX / SX (or bring your loose ECM if you want to be boring) Thursday during the tours and we will update your ECM to the latest OE calibration which supports installing our quick shift kit as a “plug and play” option.

If anyone is interested it's bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube today. They have bands, of course food and drink. Sometimes more than 700 bikes show up. Plenty of parking as it's closed to bikes only. If the weather holds I'll probably be going. https://www.facebook.com/QSLNewBerlin http://thelube.com/locations/wisconsin/new-berlin/ |

>>>How cool is that! Digital swag! Frankly . . . it's cooler than that. Anyone who gets the chance to meet Dan Hurda will be treated to one of the smartest engineers to ever darken a doorway at Buell and a damn nice guy. ECM or not . . . don't miss the chance to meet Dan. |

You ever try and out drink somebody from Wisconsin? Mercy. It's as bad as trying to out drink a Brit. |

It's easy to out drink a Brit. You just have to be Irish! |

Boy, have I pissed off a LOT of Germans by out drinking them on their home soil... I'm a Wisconsin native - and DAMN PROUD of it! Upholding the tradition internationally, 1313 |

BTW- (spinoff from some recent FB posts), Will someone please suggest to EBR that they should come out with their own version of the Buell "Traction" grips? They're not my favorites, but people are willing to pay ~$100 for these things. EBR could keep the company afloat for another year or two just off grip sales! |

I was really hoping to get up there at least for the factory tour. To much going on with contractors and real estate deals going south though. Today really sucked loosing on a property because of some crazy building restrictions due to a zoning glitch from 1990. Sorry to vent here, but government bureaucrats can really be a bear to deal with. Hope you folks have a good time. I'll be at home baby sitting contractors and searching for a new property. Sucks to be me. |

On a related note, Erik was interviewed on Wheelnerds this week: http://wheelnerds.com/e/consequences-and-buell He comes on at about 35 minutes in. LOTS of discussion about the Uly and an EBR replacement. Erik still rides the hell out of his Uly and both of the show hosts are apparently Uly riders. |

Froggy... Remind me to give you a groin punch at the WVBR I rode to TWO and back over Memorial Day weekend on my DR650. I thought to myself how cool would this be on a AX. Guess that wont be happening any time soon. |
