Well the last 2 years i have been building my 2002 tacoma for off road and camping! So i have a huge rooftop tent on it. I also set up my rig with a group 4d battery invert-er isolation set up. I have a 3000 watt 6000 watt peak DC\AC modified sine wave invert-er connected to the high amp isolation system so i can discharge my back up battery and not my primary truck battery but still be able to charge them both at the same time when driving the truck. 2 classics next to each other a 2002 X1 and 2002 TACO!! I don't have kids......... so the dogs are the kids! |

What kind of tent is that? I'm interested in some kind of rooftop/over-the-side type of tent for my van. That looks like a really good setup (Message edited by pwnzor on April 02, 2016) |

Might I also suggest something? If you want your sensitive electronics to last, you should get a pure sine wave inverter. Think laptop, tablet, phone, etc. |

Thanks for the thread. I'm in a similar process. Currently trying to pick a good winch to complete my hitch winch cradle. |

..wow..love the setup..awesome stuff there.Got the cool stuff set up for the "just in case" situation crops up too...bug out. They make a setup like that that fits my '13 Jeep Wrangler...been thinking about one. Again, i like what you've done to your truck.LT |

With the switching supplies that are used for most electronics, they don't care about sine wave, you can feed them a square wave and they will be OK. Few of the uninterrupable power supplies in computer racks offer a real sine wave, generally only the really expensive medical grade UPS offer sine wave output. |

@blake The need for the power started with the wife wanting coffee! And i kind of over do things a lot so here we are now. But when we go out in cold weather i have heated blankets for wife. And the power also negates having to carry different fuels like chain saw fuel and stuff i don't want to deal with like generators. And i can run tools if i have to like air compressors for impact tools. And plain just in case....I can jump start my own truck off the 2ndary battery. Im working on a camp light set up that runs "wink off an app" and controls low cost led bulbs so i can hang them in the trees for awesome lighting when the Friends are with us. Its like having a patio BBQ in the middle of nowhere!! Good stuff!! |

I guess you do tend to overdue things. It looks like that wall on that shed has about 10 chimneys. I reckon you are staying warm. |

@pwnzor Its a tepui tent from a California co. The model is a grand sabana in Siberian cammo! I got mine when they where the 1st different fabric option so it was a "little" cheaper in my home land of New Zealand these can get as high as $12,000 U.S. http://tepuitents.com/collections/gran-sabana/prod ucts/gran-sabana-siberian-camo-roof-top-tent This is the best tent i have ever used and the possibility. |

Really nice set-up there and the perfect place to use it. People who haven't been to Utah don't know what they're missing. |

I get the impression that your ducting/chimney salesman is a beautiful woman. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i20/preybird1/Mo bile%20Uploads/20160331_113848_zpsm2jgpnwn.jpg |

So I spent some time on the manufacturer's website last night, and they are some very cool tents... but MAN are they proud of them! I'd be curious to hear how well they hold up in a high wind situation... so I'll be expecting reports on your various adventures and how the tent holds up in different weather conditions. You have your assignment, now get out there and camp! |

Does he give you tokens for the washing machines and dryers? That would be serious icing on the cake. |

Got a RTT, but I throw it on top of a Kendon "Stand-Up" trailer that I kit out for camping when not hauling the CR to track days... Loaded up to haul:

Nice set up, Preybird. |

That little setup on the Kendon is right up my alley. It's light, super portable, breaks down into pieces... nice work! |

Matt - Thanks, I like getting multiple uses out of my stuff... Frame with storage boxes just slides on:
RTT stands against garage wall in background. Lid on hinges opens to a "well" between the storage boxes - - stores fire wood, folding chairs, some spares:
Takes about 2 hours to assemble or disassemble, and it all stands up against the garage wall when not in use. |
