Just a quick clip of some of the race cars from the Rolex 24 last weekend. I'm something of a mediocre at best photographer and an even worse videographer. Regardless, here is the clip. ah you were down there too?? I took a lot of pics from the event, if wanted, I will post up some later. and I have to say - the best, meanest sounding cars were the C7Rs, which were always pretty close to each other | ||

It's probably that I've attended far too many NASCAR races in my life and I know I am in an extreme minority but the Corvettes and Corvette Prototypes do nothing for me. Another loud V8, next. My favorite is the screaming PDK equipped 911 RSR. Ford could use some additional pipe tuning on the sound of the new GT but I like hearing something new. The small V6, turbos, and dual clutch all combine to make something unique. The new 488 Ferraris are too quiet. The turbos seem to absorb all the engine noise. Same for the BMW M6 racers. I fear Porsche will lose the sound as well when turbos infiltrate their racers and who knows, maybe even the GT3? The Lambo/Audi V10s sound great but could use a little more volume. They actually sound pretty similar to the racing Viper and given that those two engine similarities stop at cylinder count, I'd say that's a knock against the VW subsidiary cars. So that's my rundown on the sound of the GT racers. 911 RSR FTW. Prototypes are cool but don't get me going. I like the GT cars. Finally overheard by some gangsta white boy at a Daytona Beach gas station. "They ain't like NASCAR, it's regular shit like you and I drive but souped up to the MAX!" ha lol. Yep my daily driven Lamborghini Huracan! | ||

I'm with you on the Ford GT. Disappointing sound for the money they're asking (but a very nice looking car). | ||
