That's me and Phil (Smokescreen) just before the shit hit the fan. A year ago today I woke up and couldn't talk, from there things only got worse. I've been trying ever since to get back to normal. My neurologist asked how it felt to be number 10, that 9 out 10 in my situation would not have made it.
Y'all are a big part of why I'm still alive and kicking. Me and mine humbly thank you and yours! They say this is as good as it gets, any progress here on out will be really slow. Ann said she noticed that I plateaued a while ago... I'm at the property every chance I get. It's the best place for me.

I'm as pleased to hear you are that '10' as I was surprised to see you walking up on the porch at TWOs back in March. That had to be a good day for you also! It truly was for those of us who were there.

Glitchtastic!!!! SO good to hear from you, Dave! Sounds like you're doing great... maybe in the spring we can all congregate in Suches for another shindig! The "Deer In The Headlights" hot sauce I got from the "Dales/Not Dales" store is running low... I've thought often about you and your situation... we have a Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix who requires a 2X daily dose of phenobarbital, otherwise he'll wake us up in bed as his alter-ego, "Mr. Flinchy", and it's truly horrible for us, even with just a little dawgie. I sure hate it that you've got to deal with something similar, and dearly hope you've got it as close to 100% nailed down as possible. FWIW, I LOVE that pencil sketch of you kicking the Reaper's a$$... hope you've got that framed and mounted somewhere in the house, prominently! Take care, friend. |

And... as a student and lover of language, allow me to point something out about the tread title... yes, you've had a "hell of a year", but now you're gonna have "one HEAVEN of a year" going forward! "Oh heyyull yeah", or "Oh Heaven Yeah"? "GD it" (mea culpa ad nauseam) or "God Bless It"? Just something to think about. Also, Dave I've been VERY troubled that you're not supposed to enjoy anything motorized due to your health issues... have you found any workarounds for that? |

That looks like the kind of place I need to go to far too often... Bet it was magnificent before the leaves all fell down, the color must have been grand. Good to have you with us (still). |

Nice place. Dig the sketch. Good to see you're making it. It's wild to think of all the silly little things that can kill you dead if you're not keen to it. |

Its good to be here. I won't lie to y'all, its been tough. Not sure what the next adventure will be, but I think I'm up to the challenge. No way around anything. I'm happy at the property and all I can do there. I'm scared to have any more seizures, I'd never forgive myself for something simple as realizing I don't need to be out in public driving. Anyone want a deal on a slightly used XB9? I think that sketch will be my next tattoo Mike we had a good time too. Its always a good time when we can get together.

+1, all of the above. Allow me an exercise of my imagination. I know there are ways to monitor if/when one may have a seizure coming on- there are even service dogs that can sense the signs, and alert, hopefully in time to avoid serious consequences. How about a serious, hi-po ATV go-kart with a full roll cage, 6 point restraints, and a full armored suit similar to what you'd wear on your Buell, complete with a lid that has built-in electrodes that monitor your brain-waves..., if you go all flinchy, the motor is killed and a set of "soft" airbags are deployed. Dainese is about to release their new roadracing leathers with far more advanced tech than what I've described... all you really need is an old '80's gen Honda Odyssey, on steroids, with all the described safety ideas. "Hey, Vern!" Just tryin' to help an old motorhead... |

Glitch, You look awesome...blessed! Email me when you feel up to it or more likely when you have time. G2 PS Mrs. Bigdaddy is in the living room just beating the piano up with "It Is Well With My Soul" which i found particularly fitting since I happened upon this thread at the same time she started playing. |
