I read through this very interesting thread on ADVrider this morning. The thread started because someone mentioned seeing an Excelsior-Henderson motorcycle on his morning ride. If you never heard of them, E-H was a short-lived resurrection of an old American brand that happened in the mid-1990's. They were very high-quality cruisers powered by a unique DOHC air cooled V-twin. I vaguely recall seeing a couple in a Harley dealership someplace back then. Most of the the thread's posts are by "Donkey Hotey", a long-time E-H owner and enthusiast (and IIRC, he's somewhat of a Buell enthusiast too). He provides some interesting details on the history of the brand and his ownership experiences with two E-H's in particular. I found particularly interesting that he claims most of what we "know" about how E-H was grossly mis-managed was complete BS. I also think it's pretty interesting that ~15 years after the company went out of business (after 2 years of production), people are still keeping these bikes running. That seems to be a good precedent for the guys buying EBR at below-firesale prices, in the event EBR is not resurrected after next week.
