Not sure how many here visit A&R but I won't be any more. There was an article about the Hero HX250R being delayed. The comments section went a bit off track and turned into an EBR receivership discussion, but what got me really riled up was a comment by the site owner Jensen Beeler. "Something I learned long ago Craig, Buell supporters are a lot like climate-change deniers: you can talk facts all day long, but they will only see what they want to see." This probably shouldn't have riled me up and it probably wouldn't have if it was coming from a normal user and not the owner who portray himself as a professional journalist. I did reply to him and will never visit his site again. Here is a link to the article and his comment is about 1/3 of the way down. A&R should stick to what they're good at (whatever that may be), and leave the deep end of the cognitive pool to those who don't require water-wings. Anyone who uses the term, "climate change deniers," is either anti-science or simply a tool. Not nearly enough unbiased data for an honest person to arrive at an empirical conclusion. If I recall, Galileo was put under house arrest for being a "geocentric denier." Pardon my rant; please proceed with the thread. |

Remember, Jensen Beeler is the same douche that organized the entire Bomber Motorcycles hoax, and then claimed we were trying to cover it up. |

Buell supporters are a lot like climate-change deniers: you can talk facts all day long, but they will only see what they want to see. You could equally well say Buell haters are a lot like climate-change supporters; you can talk facts all day long, but they will only see what they want to see. |

I can see some truth in that. But you get that everywhere in any situation. There is always that "one guy" per say. In all my years of mechanical exploits I have only met two groups who best the buellers in die-hard brand loyalty; GM, and honda. Not that that's a bad thing. |

While I don't like his attitude, I agree that we are clearly biased, partisan, loyal, and stubborn. What was the downside of that? |

What a coincidence that on this very Buell site there are in fact climate change deniers. 1200+ posts and counting. Yet the guy who says it is an a$$whole. How fitting. Do you guys not even see your own hypocrisy? You do have to admit that Buell owners (American Buell owners) are a unique entity quite separate from the rest of the motorcycle owning universe. Just look at the homecoming photos. Welcome to middle aged Crackerville. |

Not Climate Change Deniers, that is a deliberate label to imply a person is a Holocaust Denier, aka a neo-nazi. I'm a Global Warming Skeptic. Also a Con Man Skeptic, and far more willing to discuss facts than the Con men getting rich on fear. Climate Change is real. It's just not what the rich guys tell you. That stuff is proven nonsense. Happy to get into a polite discussion on the other thread. Also some of us have a habit of calling a spade a freaking shovel. This annoys people who had to invent "micro-aggression" because they have such care free lives they have to invent trauma to feel good about themselves. Let them have sex alone. Thanks for saying Buell Owners are unique as a group. Could be true, although the loyalty of Gold Wing guys is pretty intense. Rick is spot on. As far as the pundit and his quote...... I'm proud to be in such company, and thank him for revealing his ignorance and gullibility. |

I thought that site was for pirates? Only read a few things there and seem to recall that it was all rubbish. Not too worried about what he said, more interested to get some info from the appointed "receiver". |

climate change is completely manufactured. Their goal is to create a carbon tax (and credit for them) fund that essentially taxes you for breathing - because you are producing C02. Follow the money - in the US - it all mysteriously seems to land in Chicago Pure bullshit. Are there weather variances - sure; but do please explain to me - how a government tax would / could affect weather. as for A&R - never been there, not motivated to either. |

Oh yeah its all about a tax. If I wanted to get rich I would pick a plan that directly contradicts the desires of the largest corporations in the world. FOLLOW THE MONEY. How much money is Gore and co. looking to make compared to the profitability of petroleum production and other industries that will be adversely affected if environmental costs are figured in to their bottom line? There is no other first world nation where the fact of man made climate change is strongly debated! Now I would like you guys to tell me that your position is so much better educated then the rest of humanity and NINETY SEVEN PERCENT OF SCIENTIST'S? |

Ninety seven percent? Why don't you read the Hadley cru e mails? Then notice climate crazy is a protected religion in the UK. Or you could read the facts in the other thread. Happy to enlighten you there. There are no chem trails. HARP doesn't control the weather. (Message edited by aesquire on June 04, 2015) |

For those no longer reading things over there, you missed the following:
quote:Craig, you have either the most amazing detective skills ever or have some sort of insider knowledge because as a former EBR employee you for the most part are spot on. The truth always lays in the gray between the black and white. Erik put the company in the vulnerable position of too much debt and Hero put the nail in the coffin by pulling out of negotiations to take over the company at the last minute (quite literally, the deal was about to be finalized and they pulled back within hours of the company going under.) Erik is no victim here and it is beyond annoying to listen to him make those comments. He is an amazing engineer and a crap-tastic businessman. His whole business plan for the 1190 platform was for 5,000 bikes a year and all POs and inventory were signed and bought accordingly which created the debt. It was always a ludicrous plan and destined to fail when simple math would have told you Ducati sold less than 1,000 Panigales last year. So again, Erik dug his grave and laid in it. Hero paid the 25 million and it went straight into EBR to get the 1190 platform going. All of the consulting work had separate contracts and as that money came in it also went to EBR projects, i.e. rob Peter to pay Paul. You can only do that for so long before having to go back to the trough which is where things blew up a few weeks ago. EBR was on its last leg and had no choice but to turn over complete ownership to Hero which Hero said they would do and the plans were in place to buy EBR out of its debt and split the company into two. One side being EBR run by Erik and the other consulting side owned by Hero. Now, where it gets really interesting is the fact that Hero did make a power play to get the company on the cheap by letting EBR go under (Putting the gun to Erik's head and pulling the trigger). Unfortunately for them they misjudged the situation and can't buy the company on the cheap like to wanted to and are now stuck and scrambling to figure out what to do next with no back-up plan. There is no way they are going to launch the HX250 in 2016 or the other two derivative bikes that work supposed to launch within months thereafter. Hero honestly took an Indian approach to the situation and thought they could just let the company fall, buy it for penny's on the dollar and then all the employees would come back. Not so in MERICA! You had talented people working there that know their value and quickly found jobs elsewhere and Hero lost the true assets of the company.

If the 5000 bikes a year plan included the SX, is the number that crazy for one year? If I had budget for a new motorcycle, the SX would have been on the expensive end of what I would consider, but for sure a horse in the race. I'd never even begin to consider a Panagali. |

^ You have to wonder if the poster REALLY knew all the details of Erik's business plan for the 1190. While we've been told here the AX would NOT be on the same platform, maybe other EBR models would have shared the engine? |
