Thanks... England deserves credit for banning slavery. The fact that is was in large part English slave traders that supplied the American South with slaves to make cotton cheaper for English mills has nothing to do with the fact that a movement of banning slavery took root in England, and got the practice stopped in the Kingdom. Some English slave traders persisted, and some Spanish ones took their place, but the example was a good one, and some years, a half a million plus American lives, and a Civil war later, America followed the example and banned the ownership of human beings. ( ignore the support for the slave states by England during that war, cheap cotton, just business ) Now, I'm sure almost all of us have been subjected to that award winning movie, "Roots". In the beginning of that film we see a young African lad captured by evil European Slavers. Not what actually happened. Sure, there were evil European Slavers, absolutely, but the odds were that young Kunta Kinte was captured by a neighboring tribe, who sold him to the Arab Slavers, or, slightly less likely, by Arabs themselves. Europeans knew better than to run around a hostile land full of angry people busy warring on each other. They just loaded the slaves up in Africa at Arab ports and delivered them to the New World, the Old World, wherever there was a thriving market for cheap labor. In the Islamic State they do call them slaves, because of the great recruiting value they have attracting young men from around the world that want to get in on the looting and raping and murder offered as an alternative lifestyle on the internet. The Islamic State promises to extend slavery to the rest of the planet, in accordance with their understanding of the Will of God. Now, MY ancestors are rather known for looting, raping, and pillaging the coastal towns and river villages of Europe, and beyond... but you'd have a hard time finding one who still holds to the old Faith that does so today. But let's just get this over with. All Christians are Not Crusaders. ( bit of a pity ) All Quakers are not Richard Nixon. Sifo, come on man. You can't really believe that sign actually exists. A while back I was taken to the woodshed for posting a photoshopped satirical picture of the Michael Brown/Ferguson fiasco (I even stated that I suspected it to be fake). I love that quote. If we could only REALLY live by that. The last hundred plus years of war globally for interests not of the common man but instead conspiring to acquire land, metals, resources and the like to make some richer and more powerful. You are close. War is always theft on a grand scale. In the 20th century, the big wars were mostly about the struggle to destroy the western democracies and impose a king or communist dictatorship. In the 21st century it's the same PLUS the march of religious hatred. Every time the U.S. goes isolationist, Europe burns. This time, with a communist, pro-islamist leader, the world will burn. You are almost there.... the religious hatred or whatever boogeyman to create these falsehoods are not genuine in that they are the cover for the true reason which is always power and money. If the currency goes to the crapper we will ALL find ourselves in a very very bad place. The true history always leads one back to a few man conspiring for power and money at the common mans' expense. End of story...... unfortunately. If we go the way of isolationist and Europe burns then it burns, we should protect our homeland, let the world do as it sees fit, stop the paying billions to other countries, stop infiltrating and planting new leaders, mind our own affairs, get our house in order and choose to live in peace with a mighty military for defense of our home and not on to exploit other lands. and because of our infiltration and meddling in other countries to stir up unrest for whatever interests by those that have something to gain it becomes a new group that ends up hating USA. By the time we get the info it has been a work in the progress years before it hits fox, cnn, and the like. Enter the new boogieman and terrorists... and unfortunately we eat it up hook line and sinker. If we are supposed to believe in religious freedom in the USA then leave the religions of the world to those that believe in what they believe in and mind our own business and stop the hypocrisy. People are born and raised in religions and at a certain age can decide to leave that religion. I'm mostly Jacksonian in my foreign policy opinions. Look it up.. I agree this last century of proxy war with the authoritarian regimes has been badly done. In hindsight it would have saved literally hundreds of millions of lives if we'd nuked Moscow in 1945. Ditto if we'd stopped Mao. If you are going to fight you fight to win or you betray both your troops and your nation. The harder and faster you fight the less troops and civilians die. To appease bullies just makes them bolder. Putin will reconquer The Old Soviet Empire and has no reason to stop short of the Atlantic. Or even then. He's already declared the New Rome. The Jihadi will conquer the world according to the will of the Prophet. Last I looked we were in the way. Barry the Weasel is not on your side. I don't agree with: If you are going to fight you fight to win or you betray both your troops and your nation in that the betrayal of our troops/nation (read Michael Hastings book The operators to see what a bumble •••• mess we have made there in Afghanistan oh and by the way Hastings is dead now......)has been going on for many years with false flags and those that did that should have been and should be in jail or worse. We should get out of those countries... protect our boarders diligently and vigilantly. Use our intelligence to protect potential threats on our homeland. I do agree with..That slavery is coming.
