You seem to be implying that there is racism somewhere in the above. It took this long to dawn on me that someone could have taken my Obamaville comment as racist if they weren't aware of the reference. Given that you say you are from Cypress, I could understand you not getting it. It's a direct reference to what was known as Hoovervilles back in the Great Depression. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/hooverville s There's no racism involved in that reference, and if it matters, the kids involved were not black. I'm really curious what you had in mind when you wrote your words. |
