The people taping this and standing around are world class jerks. That cat could have been killed.

What do you suggest they do? run down there and confront the alligator? Do you own a cat? Alligators are fast but so are cats

Did you know feeding an alligator in Florida is a felony? For good reason. You get completely fearless gators.

The gator in that clip will most likely end up being killed when it gets big and aggressive enough to become a real problem, like having firball for dinner one day. Or worse.

As an aside, did you know the only animal a gator has a natural aversion to is a bear? A brooding Sow gator will abandon the nest if a bear decides to have eggs for dinner. All others animals including unarmed people will be chased off or eaten if she can catch them. Black bear gets a free pass.

My guess is that this gator is in captivity and being fed by its keepers.

The cat probably jumped the fence (like the one around the gator at the gas station along Alligator Alley between Ft. Lauderdale and Naples). Smelled the chicken, wanted some, found a gator.

Meh.

That cat can move just as fast if not faster, and he/she was READY. Plus, I'm with Jeremy, seems that gator was in a regular routine, not at all in a hurry,
and certainly not needing to ambush prey, as the wild ones must do.

Nothing to see here, move along... ; )

Cats really are not afraid of them - wary yes, fear - not so much.
