I've solidified my plans, I'll be leaving K-Vegas, NC early Sat morning and heading back Sunday. Good little 36 hour trip for the first real ride of the year. I hope to roll our by 5 or 6 am, which put me down there 10 to noon. I've got a cabin at TWO for the weekend and if anyone needs a bed, it'll be vacant Friday night and then just me Saturday. |

I was hoping for Friday night dinner at the Ritz! Dammit! Why are we short numbers? Gotta be those inbred C3 Central goobers! They're gonna leave home, where mom cooks home cooked meals, for a weekend in a cabin of mom's home cooked meals. Come on ya'll.....join us for a Friday night meal so we can hit the numbers! You're gonna be on the porch anyways.....just walk on in a lay down a ten spot or so for a great meal! It helps everyone we want to support. |

I just checked roll call, if everyone signed up there we'll be short.....BUT I don't think everyone is signed up there! I'd even buy two meals if the count was one short. I like left overs for breakfast! |

I am officially out for Glitch Badness. My sister and brother-in-law have decided to travel to Nashville for Spring Break. I hope to see Tim, Graham, et.al. in Nashville instead. Very disappointed to miss this gathering. Please don't let it be a lone get together. I hope GB/MB is accompanied by a Buelltoberfest. |

DAMMIT Jeremy! Fandamily trumps most things, see Vern for references. I'd hoped you could hit the hay on bed #3- now, that'll be open- Vern, you've got first dibs on that. Looks like Prior has available overnighting options too... As far as dinner plans go for Friday- a serious campfire, some hobo packs, and proper libations should be easy- with a head count and a Wallyworld run, I'd estimate $5 per person- and I'd buy dinner for that much money. Of course, my skills pale and evaporate next to REAL BBQ folks doing their thing... a lot depends on when we all get to Suches and get settled in. |

+1 on what Vern said. I'd be willing to pay more for dinner if it works out for TWoS- the price difference won't be much for us each individually for the very few "lost heads" on the count. Or, we could coordinate with C3 Central to work up an epic dinner. Or, a run out and back to some prime BBQ is just allright with me. Or, as long as I knew the head count and had about an hour prep time, with a campfire, hobo packs on the fire at TWoS would suffice. Discuss. |

It's too late for Friday dinner at Two Wheels,Mary has to put in her food order on Tuesday.Thats why I was asking for a head count by Monday. |

I think there should be a Beef Jerky and Whisky song and possibly a dance.I think you've got a good start on the first verse there Matthew. |

Weather looks good and I'm IN for this weekend. I have to work, so I'm not rolling out until Saturday morning and I'm taking the back roads and goat paths to Suches, so I figure I'll be in transit for 5 to 6 hours minimum. I'll roll into TWoS sometime Saturday afternoon. Hope to rendezvous with someone I know. Also need a place to crash if anyone has an extra bed or some floor space. I'll be happy to toss you some bills. |

Good to hear you're coming, Chad! Holler at me or Prior, we'll work something out... A lot of folks are leaving to head home Sunday- I'm of the mind to maybe stay another night and leave out for home Monday AM... anyone else thinking the same? I'm expecting to ride down in the rain (hopefully not, or just a bit), then the weather looks pretty dang good the next several days... might as well make the most of it. I took off a week from work- the first part will be RIDING, then the last 2-3 days busting my butt working around the house. But, RIDING is the main plan! |

I'm just doing one night. I have to work Monday morning, and my bike isn't exactly long distance friendly, so frequent stops (every 100 miles for gas minimum) will make for a long trip there and home. I'm probably roll out around lunch time on Sunday to make it home before deer o'clock and begin treatment for monkey butt. |

"...make it home before deer o'clock and begin treatment for monkey butt." Regardless, you'll have a roof over your head and a dry place to sleep! |

Damn that sucks Mike, I was looking forward to seeing you and Brad. It's been years! I mean, we were only traveling 14 hours to say hey, when we live what? 2ish hours apart? And brads about 3 1/2... lol |

More like 4 but who's counting! I too was really looking forward to this. I felt kind of helpless, Mike was doing all the work on the XR and I sit 4 hrs away.. That sucked.. I too posted in the Storm Fronts area but I'll let everyone here know too. I will call Mary tomorrow and let her rent cabin #3. So, if anyone still needs a roof, I'll make if official tomorrow. |

Sorry you guys can't make it. I'm leaving here (near Charleston, SC) in about 30 minutes. Already raining here. I just revised my route to head more west via Augusta / Athens / Gainesville based on the weather radar. Looks like the rain is headed due east and hopefully I'll ride out of it long before I get to Suches! |

Hell! At this writing I'm texting back/forth with Micah/Slowride, he's now StoppedRide- his Beemer lost all electrical somewhere in KY- looks like he won't be making it. Craptastic! It's not official yet, but it looks like I've now got 2 beds open in Lodge room #3. If Micah can't make it, I'll have the whole dang thing to myself. Let's not have any more crappy happenings y'all! |

I made it to C3 about 3:30 this afternoon. 300 miles of riding in constant rain. "Waterproof" boots started leaking after the first hour. "Waterproof" glove covers leaked after 2 hours. Froggs Toggs AND "rainproof" Cordura gear leaked. 7 hour cold, wet day. Weather's supposed to be decent tomorrow and GREAT Saturday. I'm ready for it. |

Buellish, thanks for your recon skills and reports! Hugh, making it in by 3:30 should allow for things to dry out! Hang dry by a heat register, better yet, near the fireplace... hope you're getting toasty by now! Talked to Vern, his best option is to roll down in the Vette. I'll be leaving home by 10-11 am or earlier, hopefully stopping for lunch in Tellico Plains, then running the rest straight(twisty)in. If anyone else happens to be rolling down, same roads and times, holler! |

I'm excited about heading out tomorrow morning. I anticipate being in Suches about 2-3pm local time as I'm taking the back roads there. Looks like there won't be a shortage of places to stay. |

I'm about to throw on my gear, slap the saddlebags and tank bag on the Triumph, and get rolling! Gonna stop for lunch in Tellico Plains, then hopefully get down there mid-afternoon. At this writing, there's a good chance I'll have at least 1 bed tonite and Saturday- I'm guessing Vern will take one tonite, Chad, you're welcome tomorrow nite- I may end up staying over til Monday AM, then roll home. If anyone's needing a place to sleep, holler at me: 865-719-1466. I'll check messages as I stop along the way. |

Still working at 2:00, crap. Should be done in another two hours or so. This is when being a professional automotive painter is tough. The bottom fell out of the temperatures(45F here, it was 70 most of the week)and the humidity is 100% and I am in a rush. Gotta run heat full on with our 20' high ceilings, this for painting part of a pickup at ground level....dammit! Must be patient and hurry up! If it was 65F or warmer I could have this done in ten minutes or less without spending $30 to heat the shop for it. I'll probably roll in around dark o'clock. Hope someone has a campfire going! Brad, I'll call you when I get close. (Message edited by etennuly on March 20, 2015) |
